Why doesn't this happen where I live?

A truck loaded with double stuffed Oreo cookies had an accident, which spilled the cookies from the truck.  Still in their plastic sleeves, so they really aren't dirty from the road. Fourteen tons of them.  Do you suppose they really needed to close the road?  I'd imagine that people would politely pull over, "help" the officers clear the road and go home after a quick stop for some milk at the store. ;)

In a perfect world the crash would involve a milk tanker.

It's all just so wrong.

OMG, the unfairness of it all!

"No problem, Officer, I consider it my civic duty to help with the clean-up of these Oreos.."  LOL

Ah well - I guess that's how the cookie crumbles!

See.. now that would never happen to me! Life is so unfair..

Fallyn - I dare other to NOT giggle.  I don't need the cookies either, but if they just fell from the sky (or back of truck) I sure wouldn't waste them.  I'd more likely waist them. ;)

Miss Mimi - I know!!!  There is no justice.  I'm a very civic minded person when it comes to cookies.

WYWH - *giggles* I hadn't thought of that one.  Good one!

DD - me either.  My luck would be to have a seafood truck spill it's load so that my car would smell like fish the rest of it's life.

Accidents are never "funny" I guess, except this one maybe!  I bet the cops were wishing it were donuts!
  • uniquely-ironic said on May 19, 2008....
wombat - LOL now that  would be funny.  I'm pretty sure no self respecting cop would be caught cleaning up a donut spill!!

the funnyst i seen was a semi loaded with cartons of beer rolled on the highway and about 6 ploice officers getting real cranky with drivers stopping to help clear the road  there were skip bins being filled with cartons which only had a brokin bottle or a tear in the carton .it was to do with insurence and health.

The worst I have ever seen was years ago while traveling through Illinois a semi load of hogs heading to market overturned.  I think the authorities spent days rounding up the hogs.  They are rather difficult rascals to round up under the best of circumstances.

Double stuffed oreos sounds much better though.  A nice snack for the road.

What the hell would one do with a hog in he trunk of the car.  Sorry officer, I really don't know how he got there.  Honest!

bluegum - What a shame to toss them.  I'm sure there were people willing to take the health risk for a free brew ;)

soaring - yeah, a hog in the trunk wouldn't be nearly as fun as cookies and milk.

SW - why thank you!  It is a strange and wonderful place.
  • quietone said on May 20, 2008....
I saw that on the news yesterday.  I bet people would have had a good time helping clean up the road!
  • uniquely-ironic said on May 20, 2008....
quietone - I bet they would have!  This could have been spun by the company's PR team to be a bigger deal (thus free publicity) if they'd have worked it properly.
