I was on the phone with my dad today and he said he was happy I got his email since he sent it all alone and he had doubt he could succeed. He also said that my mother doesn't write if she hasn't read from me because otherwise she doesn't know what to write. This hurted me. Because it means that she has nothing to say to me and I think this ain't good.. Am I such a bad daughter???

No, of course it doesn't mean that you're a bad daughter. But try to understand your mother's point of view. If she keeps writing to you and you don't write back, she probably thinks you're not interested in what she has to say. And it's really hard to have a conversation when one person is doing all the talking. Why not drop her a line? -

Some people are like that, they just look at a blank space and don't know what to say. I agree with kruu... drop her a line, ask her questions give her someting to write to you about. I doubt it has anything to do with you being a bad daughter! -

redrocks, I spent a lot of my life wishing my mother would do things and be closer, she never changed. It didn't mean she didn't care, it was just the way she was. She probably just doesn't know how.. I think if you want the attention, you are going to have to be the one to initiate it mostly. Good luck and don't give up.
