Today is our 33rd Wedding Anniversary. That definitely doesn't sound right.... surely I can't be old enough to have been married 33 years!!!! But there you go.
We got married when we were 19, one month shy of my 20th birthday. People said we were too young and it would never last.... hell, there were times that I thought it would never last.... but I think we're in it for the long haul now :-)
It was the Saturday of a long weekend, just like today (at least in Canada). Unlike today, it was hot as blazes! The wedding before us was late and so we all had to stand around outside the church till it was over. I remember my mother freaking out because it was bad luck for me to see the bride. She had my brothers posted in the parking lot in case the limo showed up before I got inside the church. But the other wedding ended and I got inside before my bride arrived.
Then we found out why the other wedding was late. OMG, the other bride threw up on the altar! Not once, but 3 times!! How embarrassing would that be?
Our nuptials went off without a hitch, thank God, and everyone had a great time. Some days it feels like that was just yesterday and not 33 years ago.
So Happy Anniversary, Mrs Actorguy. I love you more than ever!
