I have just signed up as new member to this blogging community and wanted to introduce myself. I guess it would make a good first blog post. I'm not exactly sure what to write, but I guess I'll just say a little about myself.
I was born and raised in the city of Los Angeles in California. I pretty much lived there my whole life, until March of last year. I decided I was sick of the LA lifestyle and needed to get away. I had finished with a Bachelors of Science in Animation and I was still working as a web design "assistant" at the place I was working at. It seemed like a dead end job to me. My family was driving me crazy at home. And it was the same thing everyday with my friends. Going out somewhere to get drunk, then probably just chill at starbucks. I really needed a change.
So, of all the places to move to...I moved to Las Vegas, the City of Sin. I played it smart by finding a job first though. I landed a great job as a Graphic Designer at a really good company. I know it has nothing to do with my degree, but I feel like this career path would be better for me. I've been here over a year now and I still love it. I'm actually at work at the moment...haha. Just waiting to get out at 5pm. I'll leave out the details about my move for now, I plan to elaborate more and make it its own blog post later. For now I'll just finish up this introduction.
So, the reason why I've decided to start up a blog was because I feel like I've lost touch with the world. Like I said, I moved from LA to Las Vegas. Basically I left all my friends and family in LA. I literally only have 3 friends that live here. Two of which are my roommates that I hardly even see because they both work and go to school. I have a pretty regular work schedule from mon-fri. I end up just spending a lot of time alone at home after work. I have every video game console you can think of so I have enough video games to keep me company for a bit, but even that loses its fun after awhile. I find myself on the computer almost 24/7 surfing the web and chatting. Finding interesting things to read about or download some shows I missed out on. I guess my point is that my friends and family aren't as close and readily available for me to talk to. So I see this blog as a place where I can just let everything out if I ever have to. A place to share what's going on in my life.
Life always throws unexpected things at you and you can never know the outcome. Life is a venture....
