I was just looking around for something to post about--more of my special nonsense.

I noticed the option to "Sign Out" of SC.

I have noticed it before, of course, but guess what?

I have never once clicked on that little white-gloved hand!

Why?

Because I am a paranoid person who is afraid that if I do, I will have trouble "Signing Back In!"

I have always wondered if other people click on that for one reason or another.  To make alts?  Just to close up shop at the end of the session?

Me--I just mouse to my little orange-roofed house (Home)  and see what the weather is going to be for tomorrow, then hit the red X in the top right side.

Then I have to go through the process of shutting down my computer for the night.

The only time I have to "sign in" and tell my secret (reference to old show, "I've Got A Secret) is when I have deleted my cookies.

Do any of you "Sign Out" on a regular basis?

(Over one year and I am still learning to SC!)

I do but not everytime. I come to these pages every day and several times through out the day. I just leave it up.

I only sign out if I'm at work so no one else can turn my computer on when I'm not around and see my account. And I do sign out if I write at my other blog too. But generally at home on my PC and my laptop, I'm always signed in. It's just easier that way.

PS: you're not the only one who has had a fear that if you sign out, you won't be able to get back in! I've thought that before too :-P

I always sign out...but I have no idea why.
No one is going to read this when I'm not here, but the 'sign out' option is right there...so I do it.

I sign out when I'm going to be away from the computer.  It's just habit.

I never sign out. And it's no longer a big deal for me to shut down my computer for the night because I don't have a PC anymore. All I do on my Imac is click the word "sleep" and I'm done. Instant on, instant off.
  • husbandhater said on May 14, 2008....
I do. I sign out and I'm able to get in except for the time that the cache crashed.
  • Lucytorial said on May 15, 2008....
I always sign out, its a ritual, for me anyway to sign out I always inside my head say "nite nite soulcast" then hit that little guy then sigh... then think about signing in again then sigh again and go to bed... or eat as the case may be.

I have about six internet sites all with different log ons and pass words (this is only one) and I remember all of them at the top of a hat... weird but I need to sign out to let go or my addiction would be far too all consuming!
  • crybabylu said on May 15, 2008....
I have forgotten to sign out a number of times, and then PJ will get on and not realize I haven't signed out, so we try to remember to sign in and out since then.
  • CayenneMan said on May 15, 2008....
I tend to agree with lucy, I always sign out but I have found that I can return without signing back in . . . mysterious and spooky eh ?
  • quietone said on May 15, 2008....
nope never sign out.. for fear I wouldn't get bac k in either!!  Once I got on line and SC did ask for a password...... huh?? oh no I for got it!!  LOL but whew I got in!
  • GrapeKoolaid said on May 15, 2008....
There was an SCaster that was locked out for a while...  Couldn't find his key perhaps?  It was Bronx, I think...  My memory's not what it used to be...

I don't sign out on the laptop, but if I log on anywhere else, I make sure to do so.

BTW.  White-gloved hand...  Love it.  :)

I have not signed out for a year or so. Once there was trouble signing in and since then I have not signed out. I xed the little box that said keep me signed in. Or was it remember me

My computer is also always connected. I shut it down if there is an error that I have to rectify. And then I start it again.
  • dailyachesandpains said on May 15, 2008....
I always sign out.  I've learned my lesson, lol!  It wasn't here though, it was actually on Ebay (just speaking about Ebay with someone else here) and my Niece decided to purchase a laptop under my screen name.  She HAS ONE (computer), except since she's had it, it's been in at Circuit City getting fixed (and no, they haven't given her a new one) more than she's had it at home!  She thought she opened up "her" window while using my computer.  Pfffft!  She's 17, c'mon now!

I rarely sign out of anything, expecially when there is a [remember me] option.  I have so many accounts all using different usernames and passwords that I would be forever going through the [forgot my password] routine.  I do that quite often enough as it is.  Most secure sites don't have an option to store your password.  paypal is one, and nearly everytime I go to log in I have to ask them for my password and username.  Seems pointless really to have a 'secret' password when it is so easy to get it from them.

    Good evening to you

Well, I have let this post get away from me.  I promise I have read the responses, twice actually--but can't seem to make individual comments.  I guess it is the kind of post it is, or my tired, lazy mind.  Hope no one minds!  I am usually better at this!

Thank you all for reading and commenting!  I will try to do better next time!

Going to just delete the comment saying I would do individual comments on this.  I guess I need to back of and slow down---I am just not feeling like I can do it.  And I am sorry!  I did read all responses!  Maybe I should just sign out....ha.
