I had to put on summer clothes. In such weather as we have today I always do. Once I used to wear skirts if the weather was like that. Today I just put on Bermuda shorts and a sleeveless T shirt. Yippee Jay, we have SUMMER WEATHER!!!!!
No reason not to enjoy. One never knows how many day one gets of this. This could be the only one.

Anyway you would not find this warm. It is 15C 59F but 15C feel like 20C 68F in Middle Europe. I have even been cold with 20 degrees there. I can not explain this.

People are smiling, people are happy. The sky is blue.
On the way home from the pool, I notice how green everything suddenly is.Happened just in a week and I noticed the flowers. This is a ideal day.
The picture is taken summer 2005. I had all my grandchildren in a summerhouse at the time.

I love days like that!  They're especially nice when they come after a long spell of cool rainy days.  It almost seems like the flowers are smiling and holding their little faces up to the sun.  :)

I'm glad you're out in the sunshine, enjoying it!

I love sunny days!  The first few of the summer are so welcome.
  • skald said on May 14, 2008....
Thanks Mimi. We had a bad winter. First it rained form the end of November and then  from Christmas time it was endless snow. When it melted there was not enough rain for the vegetation. That happened last week and now everything is green and we can stop our winter's sleep, just like the bears.

    Uniquely.  They sure are.

Yay for you! You've got summer!!  :-)

skald, I need to borrow some of that sunshine today.  It's windy and rainy here today and I can't seem to get warm.
  • skald said on May 14, 2008....
Dia.  Yay, yay. Dia. It is already 8,30 PM and the sun is shining so gladly.
Mimi,  I have to ask the sun to shine on you too. Sure it can shine on us both.

Hi, glad to hear that you had some nice weather today. I was surprised at the picture until I read that the picture wasn't today!

Here the weather has come straight from New York City. It does not belong in Israel, where the rain and clouds would stop by the end of April. Now the weather is so strange and changeable that the forecasters are often way off. Today was supposed to be sunny and hot, and it was medium and cloudy.

That is some blue sky there!  Glad you are enjoying the nice weather right now while you have it.  I am learning to do the same here in the northeastern part of the U.S.  I was told that because of the long, cold and snowy winters, you had better get out all you can when it is nice!  I do--but then I say, "How will that help me on a rough January day on down the line?"
  • skald said on May 14, 2008....
Trinov. Maybe this weahter was for Bush. Was he not there?lol.
Wombat.  It helps. I know. We grab the good weather and enjoy when we can. Maybe we just better sleep during the winter. lol

I wish the sun shone as late here as it does in Iceland in the summer. I love long summer days.

Oh, our weekend weather is supposed to get into the 90s (F).

Some of my coworkers wear shorts to work when the weather is nice, but even though I wear jeans and t-shirts or more often polo shirts, wearing shorts just wouldn't feel right to me.

Treasure these special moments you have to share with your grandchildren. That's a big part of what life is meant to be, sharing the the good times with family and freinds.    Take care skald and stay safe.

Fearing.  Yes they were so much younger there. Thanks and  hugs back.
Twy.  I guess we try to enjoy every minute when the good weather comes because we never know how long it lasts. Last  summer was very good, And in my child hood memories the summers were good. I have also heard that the summers in the 50's were good.
Tin  It depends on where you work. If you work in an office, it does not seem right but for people working out side , like boulders it feels O.K to me.
    Infernal.  Thanks so much Infernal.
Cayenne.  You stay safe too and thank you so much. I will.

Hi skald, so glad you got some nice summer weather.  :)  Maybe the nice weather I sent you just now made it across the water.  LOL  Hope you have many more nice days.
  • skald said on May 15, 2008....
Quiet.  Thanks this is the second good day today and that is good. All last summer was very good. And as I told some one the summers when I was a child were very good. I heard that we had good summers in the 50's so I am right. The summer when Gummi was born started in April and was ever so good. But then we have on the south western corner  of Iceland often had rainy summers.

Its good to hear that spring has arrived in Iceland.  I certainly wish it would arrive in earnest around here.  At this moment I am sitting at my computer with a bad case of th shiver shakes.  I refuse to turn the heat back on though if even for a couple hours.  Its the middle of May for heavens sake, it ought to be warm.

Anyway I will sit here envious of your warmer days while you enjoy the lovely weather.

    Good day to you!

Soaring.  So sorry you are shivering. Hope the spring arrives soon where you are. I don't know where it is but I do hope so. Thanks for visiting me.
Grape.  The photo is three years old. I found it in my pictures. The princess is my granddaughter Freyja who is 9 now so she must have been 6. They sure have grown since then. Thanks so much Grape.

oh, such a wonderful day! I can see tell according to skycolor, that the day was really beautiful - just suitable for children to go out. I hope the kids had a good time, though I see a frown face there:)
  • skald said on May 15, 2008....
Quna.  That is from another sunny day. 3 years ago. We were in a summerhouse and I can't remember why he frowned. He was just 3 then. The picture was just to decorate the post. lol
