Three words sum up the night;

Long, John, and Silver's

Yes, he took me to Long John Silver's for lunch,

but wait!

It gets better!

We split the tab!

Then on to the race track.....................for the entire day,

followed by

a night at the harness track!

Will somebody please tell me why I got dressed up for this?!

"Uh, I've got to go now.  I have to wash my hair for a dental appointment tomorrow.
See ya...................................................(under her breath as she walks away) not!"

Oh my goodness  - are you kidding me?
Where did you find this guy?
  • MissLily said on May 12, 2008....
Do tell, how the heck did you make it through parts one and two to find yourself at the harness track!?  I'm not sure I'd have made it past going dutch... poor thing.

I knew a woman who was married to a lawyer. Some of the lawyers in the firm got together to buy a race horse. The first time the horse was going to run at Suffolk Downs (http://www.suffolkdowns.com/) the woman (whose familiarity with racing didn't go much beyond the Ascot scene in My Fair Lady) with got all dressed up in a pretty spring dress with a hat and all. She got in a cab asked the cabbie to take her to Suffolk Downs, and the cabbie broke out in laughter, saying "You've never been there before, have you!"

INH, since I've only had three really bad dates in my life, I really can't complain.
We met at a dance club, he was a really great dancer, but that's about all.  LOL

MissLily, I think I've mentally blocked it all out, because for the life of me, I can't remember a single detail, except those I've already related.

    Leafblower, yes I am!

Queen, it's like Mc Donald's with seafood!

Purpose, I should have gone home when I saw the sign for Long John Silver's!
  • pickersplock said on May 13, 2008....
    Exhibit, that story is hilarious!
  • Twylarants said on May 13, 2008....
    I love the track.
We have to break up, Pickers.
    I'm sorry.
I didn't mean for this to happen.
    It's you, not me.

I got that last part backwards, huh...it's supposed to be "It's me not you".
    Crap!

I'm sorry to hear that pickers. Third time's the charm???

Either way, you're better than I am...I would have left once I saw the restaurant.
  • queenparanoia said on May 13, 2008....
i get it!!!! he brought you there for your date?!?!?!?!?! the guy is so stupid!!!!!!!!!! =)
  • pickersplock said on May 13, 2008....
Twyla, don't get me wrong, I enjoy the track every once in a while.............but all day and night and LJS for a first date?  Nothing says I'm a compulsive gambler and I have no money,
     like the date above!

TBS, I should have left then too, but that's me, always the optimist!

Queen, yes, well that ship sank a long time ago.  It is a pretty funny story though!
  • travelr712 said on May 13, 2008....
so what's wrong with long john silver's anyway? :-P
  • Twylarants said on May 13, 2008....
It's not at good as Arthur Treacher's.
  • pickersplock said on May 13, 2008....
He could have at least taken me to Red Lobster............

You see Trav, on the sliding scale of fast food fish eateries
Long John's is the bottom of the barrel
    followed by Arthur Treachers
    then Red Lobster comes next
    yes, I know it's not technically fast food, but it's like the Denny's of seafood;
    Olive Garden is the Italian Denny's and they have soggy salad;
    but I digress,
Red Lobster is on top......of the bottom.

You are kidding...right? Worst date I've heard! I had bad dates but, it didn't come to a point looking this bad!

.. and the dutch? ugh. what a first impression!
  • princessbitch65 said on May 13, 2008....

Pickers, you're not the only one that seem to be getting bad dates lately. I seem to be having the same problem myself.

    *sigh*

  • pickersplock said on May 13, 2008....
Oh, this was ages ago, Princess!  These all happened in my early twenties, I'm 41 now and I'm married with two kids! LOL

Lalaine, you didn't see my Air Supply Date?   Actually, I'm saving the worst for last!
The date I didn't even know I was on!
