“If we just pick up like Ned Lamont wants us to do, get out by a date certain, it will be taken as a tremendous victory by the same people who wanted to blow up these planes in this plot hatched in England,” Mr. Lieberman said at a campaign event at lunchtime in Waterbury, Conn. “It will strengthen them and they will strike again.”
Lieberman Uses Terror for Opportunism
Joe,
You lost. You made it close, but you lost. You lost me in '98. Part of me was glad that you were never a heartbeat away from the Presidency. I think the thing is that at some point you started believing what your press people were saying about you. That you were a good and moral man and that you were the smartest guy in the room. The thing is Joe, some people disagree with your moral stance and by equating Al Queda with Iraq, you are proving that you are not the smartest man in the room. Listen to Schumer, listen to Dodd. Not for the good of the party, or for the good of the country, but for a chance to salvage a legacy, stop. Go back to Washington, work hard to build up good contacts with the people who will be hiring you on K Street and get off the front page.
Thanks,
stilldocked
