Renee came home dressed in a beautiful purple dress because she had been shopping in the city with her friends. Olia went upstairs and changed into a dress immediately so she would look pretty for Mother's Day! She really did look pretty with her dress and tiny heeled sandals. Renee brought Olia a beautiful new silver and pearl necklace and Olia wore that at dinner and looked very lovely. The green-eyed monster has reared it's head. Olia adores Renee, but she gets jealous when Dan and I chat with Renee and not with her! She carries on and on, but she needs to learn that Renee is just as important to us. Tonight we are going to watch the Alvin and the Chipmunk's movie and eat ice cream to celebrate Mother's Day! We bought ice cream dots with Nestle's crunch chips and we are ALL excited about eating that snack! Dan and Renee decided to walk the bike trail and Olia went along and rode her bike!
Dan and Olia and Renee brought me a bird bath for my garden. I had one a few years ago, but it cracked from the weather. And Renee gave me a PRADA bag; nicest handbag I've ever had! Olia loved all my gifts. She told me that she is going to pick a date for "Olia Day!"
The school nurse gave "the talk" to the girls in Olia's class. She described menstruation, breast development, using deodorant, etc. Olia told me that a lot of the girls didn't know about those topics. I was very surprised! I had that "talk" with Olia last summer so she didn't learn anything new. Of course, it was a hot topic at recess for the girls for the last few days!
Olia packed everything for her camping trip next weekend. It is always better for us to do things in advance when we have the time. We are all just so busy all week and then we get rushed if we wait until the last minute. Olia definitely is learning that it is better to do thiings in advance!
