why is graduating so hard? it's not the actual act of receiving my diploma, it's the fact that they give you all these damn events that you can invite people to.

I NEED MORE TICKETS!!!!

*sigh*...I needed that. there are too many people in my life who want to be part of my life who are driving me crazy!!

Ok. so for Grad Alley...which is just a block party for seniors and there guests...we get 3 (one for you and two guests)

For Commencement we get 7 (again one for me and six guests)

And Graduation there is 5 guest tickets.

    My mom keeps inviting people...AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!

I almost died from stressing over the ticket issue in hs, since my family is split and both sides expected their fair share of tickets. I threatened to skip graduation over the whole stupid fight. My dad, stepmother, and Nana ended up bowing out, which greatly upset me.

Trust me...it's not worth stressing over! It's your big day; don't let tickets spoil it!

Are there marshals at your graduation/commencement? Do they get a guest ticket of any sort? Ours did, and I know some seniors made bargains to snare those for "extra" guests. Maybe you could try that?

Oh, and in college (I do know you're graduating college, not hs ;-)) it was the other side of my family who skipped. :-p But it's the same hassle! I hope you can escape the stress and just enjoy it all. :)

my daughter is graduating high school next month,  if it should happen to rain, we get 2 tickets.  that means even my other kids wouldn't be able to attend.

    i hope the weather holds!

i say just immediate family; then a party somewhere for the rest!

Infernal: My family consists of my mom and my sister. But my cousins want to come, distant family wants to go. And that would be fine...except my mom (wonderful woman that she is) keeps inviting random people. We don't have marshals, so I've been asking people who aren't going if I can have their tickets.

Secret: I hope the weather holds too, as commencement is held outside. EEEKKK! One more thing to worry about. My mom keeps inviting people. So it not that people WANT to come, they don't even know until she mentions it. The woman is driving me crazy. But I love her, and I'm her first born so this is a big deal for her, particularly since my sister's college graduation isn't for another 9 years. So I just keep trying to haggle tickets...I don't know how to burst her bubble, you know?

I am drowning my sorrows in a bowl full of kid's cereal - Cookie Crisp, dinner of champions. I could have easily made a case for eating cookies for dinner, but at least this way I can pretend to have eaten real food.

What I'd like to know is...
My sister asked if she could share my email address with someone who was a classmate of mine back in high school. I said yes, of course. Right there, I should have given that more thought.

Got a bubbly email from her, and I responded in equ...
Well, SC - I am teetering on the brink. It seems like I should be a lot more upset than I actually am, but I am taking consolation in the knowledge that I have done the absolute best that I could. Also, there's still a chance I can achieve the grades...
Maybe it won't go down like this, but it's getting close to the wire. My academic performance is slightly better, but inconsistent, and there's no way to know if I will make the grade until we see how I do on my final exams in a few weeks.

6 more days - sounds crazy, but this is the longest I have ever gone without seeing my family, and I can't wait to go home!

My advisor made me promise I would come back - yeah, I promise. I have unfinished business here, LOL, and as much as ...
