Guess what? My car (the larger of the two) decided to "quit" on the highway today.
Mr Polar was en route to take our guests from South Africa to meet a family member where they will be spending the day before their flight this evening, when the car decided to overheat and "call it a day". Thankfully, the family member just had to travel a little further and was able to pick up our guests whilst Mr Polar continued to wait for the RAC Breakdown Response.
We really do need both cars as Mr Polar and I both drive to work as it works out cheaper that way and is less time consuming for us.
Last weekend Mr Polar's sister said that she was thinking of selling her car, because she wants to get another one. I mentioned that we may be interested and she should let us know if and when. Yesterday she sent us a text saying she wants £600 for the car if we are interested. Unfortunately, we dont have a spare £600, so we said that we would need to sell one of our cars first. . .that was before the big car broke today.
This morning before Mr Polar drove off with our guests his sister text me asking if Tigger could come over to them and have a sleep-over. Of course we were eager for him to go, coz then we could have a Saturday night to ourselves. . .and that does not happen very often!
Anyway, when I went to go and drop Tigger off there this morning I told them that our car had just broken on the highway. My sister in law said that she is getting her new car on Monday and I asked if she had sold the other one. She said no and that she wanted to give us first option. So I said that it would be great if we could, but we dont have £600 to do so and I assumed she would need that money as part of the payment on the new vehicle. To which she said no and that she is more than happy for us to pay it off if we wanted to!
Now, in my mind that is just such perfect timing!! Thank you, Father Yahuweh!
The RAC dude said that the radiator needs replacing on my car and also he thinks the headgasket has blown. He estimated the repair costs in the region of between £400 and £500! We cant have he car fixed now because we dont have that amount of money to pay the garage in one go, but we could save up for it over the next months, or Mr Polar can do the repairs himself. We'll see.
The wonderful thing is that we will have the transport that we need and I cant even begin to express my happiness and gratitude!
I just wanted to share my joy with you.
Much love
Polar
