I just took a home bank. A thing I said I would never do and now I did. There were some things that I saved and now I don't see the alternatives to change this and get the taps back that were there before , like if I want to see more stock markets and so on. Not that I have any notion.

Skald--I'm confused. I'm not sure what you mean by a "home bank".

Zayda,  I don't know what you call it,  You get connected to your bank. You can see  your accounts  and pay your bills and such from your computer. Please tell me what you call it.

    Ohhh...

    We call it electronic banking.

I love banking online! I save a lot of money on stamps by scheduling payments to come right out of my account (and if I schedule them ahead of time, then I can't forget as the due date gets close!).

I couldn't survive without electronic banking.  Congrats Skald!  You'll love it!

yes, it is convenient as my pay is direct deposit too so I hardly ever have to go to the bank..

That is probably going to make banking much more easier for you, skald.

I had the option of online banking, but figured my life was complicated enough as it is.  I was worried about my account number being out there, but I heard that they scramble it somehow, and only the bank can read it.  I would like to be able to check my account activity on line--see if my check got deposited etc...that would be a convienience!

Infernal.  I don't know how I am going to like this or not. At least I can see my account and that is nice.
Fearing.  Thanks you really reassure me.
Quiet.  That is good and i would also like skipping going to the bank,
Papajack.  I sure hope it will. Thanks Papajack.
Wombat.  I felt like you and then I though it is  on computers  anyway.  So there  is not more risk that that risk.

That's how I do all my banking too. Online. It saves me so much time and I never have to buy stamps! I think you'll like it once you get the hang of it. I've been doing it that way for a few years now and I love it.

I was confused too when I saw "Home bank" and thought you may have meant a home loan.  LOL!

I do my banking on-line too.  My Parent's are just getting into it and they're getting over that bump over understanding it all.  Of course they won't ask any of us for help because we're not "allowed" to see what they have, or don't have.  It's hard to explain it over the phone or yelling instructions through a wall at their house.

Kyle  My uncle is even more modern than I. He does it and my daughter in law Adda too. I bet it will be convenient once I get the hang of it.
Daily      lol I will ask my boys if I have to or my daughter in law Adda.
Ed.  I some how did not find it secure. But then again all my accounts are in computers any how if some one wants to break into it.
