I'd love to have a pda - but they're expensive, need batteries or chargers, you have to teach yourself how to write in that little square at the bottom of the screen and you're stuck if you lose that little plastic stylus that'll cost you $5 to replace.
For less that $5 I can get myself a pda that doesn't need batteries, easy to back up, easy to replace if I lose it and simple to back up. It's called the Hipster PDA. Who makes it? You do.
What is it? It's a couple of 3x5 index cards held together with a binder clip.
(you don't have to get the fisher pen)
It's gotten popular quickly - just look at all the Hipster PDAs and tricks you can find on Flickr
Any scanner or copy machine can back up your Hipster in minutes. Easy to put in a pocket or purse and you can make your own cards - or print the ones at DIY Planner.
Or you can try Levenger's very expensive line of 'pocket briefcases' - leather holders for 3x5 index cards. (although Wal-Mart has something like the basic one for $4)
