today is my wedding anniversary--i blogged about it last year, too, cuz that's what i do: i write about what's on my mind. :>
the mrs and i will observe the event by going out to a restaurant that intrigues us after i get out of work tonight. we were planning on doing something a lot more elaborate but there was a logistical hitch so we're gonna put that off until next friday. as i told her, the anniversary is a celebration of our getting married, and hence of our relationship, so the timing isn't to me particularly important.
but what we're gonna do next week will be cool. because i'm relatively new to my job, i don't get any vacation days yet, so we can't go away or do anything really fun like that. but as foodies, what we planned out involved spending the day in philly. i'll be burning a personal day and we'll day trip into the city of brotherly love (hi, mamie!), starting off at one restaurant whose name i don't recall but i remembered sounding really, really good, poking around on market street to do a little shopping and finally ending with the omokase at morimoto, about which i've previously written.
what's funny about dinner tonight though is that we have a rule: the first time we visit a restaurant, we don't go there for an "event" outing, like a birthday or our anniversary, because we don't want to run the risk of being disappointed on a special day, you know?
but having read a few reviews, mostly recent, i figured that sometimes, little rules like that are made to be broken. you know, like the speed limit. :> after all, foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds, right?
happy friday, guys!
