Sometimes I get the strangest comments on the longer articles I write. Today I got a comment on a one page poem that so far has had the most views of all my poems. The criticism was that the poem was too long.
The poem in question isn't even a page of text long. I'm guessing the commentor has never read the long poems written by many historical poets including Shakespeare, Walt Whitman, Maya Angelou and so forth.
I worry about the literacy of a nation when reading a poem less than a page long is just too overwhelming for someone.
