This is an effort to use up my posts for the day. I have nothing to say though. I have 9 posts remaining, but I often wondered how someone could possibly have 10 blogs to post in 24 hours. Are any of us that interesting? Maybe if I was stopping crime and saving people from burning buildings, I'd have more to say.

Instead, I often write about cleaning my cupboards and eating cookies. That's some fascinating stuff right there. But I suppose it's better than some of the crap floating around out there passing itself off as a blog.

The most interesting thing that happened to me today so far was that I ate a frozen burrito for lunch. Only I cooked it first because when they're frozen they're too hard to bite into. Normally I cook it for 2 minutes, then turn it over, and cook for 1 more minute. It's proven to be the right amount of time to get a decent burrito. And it's usually too hot, which I can attest to since I burned my foot with burrito the other day.

But today, something went wrong. The burrito was still cold in the middle. And it really doesn't taste good like that. So I cooked it longer, and then I burned the roof of my mouth. Ouch. That sucked.

Anyway. That's it. That's all I've got right now. But I made the effort to fill this place up with something wholesome! (yet totally uninteresting....)

Eww! I hate it when I cook a toaster pastry or something and it's scorching on the outside, but still cold in the middle. :-p  I tend to overcorrect the problem, too. :-D

You just aren't destined to have totally good food this week, are you?

I had peanut butter and jelly on separate slices of toast!
The peanut butter was on one slice, and the jelly on the other!

Infernal--It does suck when the middle of something is still cold! It's disgusting. But no, I'm not having a good time of things food wise this week!

pickers--You're a rebel! Peanut butter on one side and jelly on the other? That's living dangerously!
  • pickersplock said on May 07, 2008....
    ..........AAAAAAAAAAnnd they were totally separate!

I ate one bite of the peanut butter
    drink of milk
    one bite of the jelly
    drink the milk
the jelly? no the peanut butter again!
    drink the milk!
    I'm getting totally crazy here!

I had a smoked turkey sandwich on oatmeal bread and a big yummy dill pickle.  Mmmm.
  • pickersplock said on May 07, 2008....
    You wild woman you!
  • Mr_Box said on May 07, 2008....
Somehow you even made this amusing to me. I liked how you said the burrito is too hard to bite into unless you cook it!

I had a roast beef sandwich for lunch. With potato salad. But that part wasn't very good because some of the potatoes were still crunchy.
  • MissMimi said on May 07, 2008....
It was nice and crunchy and juicy too!
  • MommaSue said on May 07, 2008....
I had goldfish crackers and pepsi.  Followed by an afternoon snack of microwave popcorn!

And yes, evil_twin can make reading about lunch interesting!  Thanks!
  • skald said on May 07, 2008....
Anyway this was interesting. how you cook the burritos. I guess in the micro.
Yes, I can't see why people want to post 10 posts. One is what I post and not all days. Have a good evening Kyle.
  • kruuyai said on May 07, 2008....
I once used up 10 posts in a day.  Dare you to find them.  I'm too drunk to say more at the moment.  Bye.

  • pickersplock said on May 07, 2008....
    Kru!  You've been drinking?
    Another wild woman! LOL
  • evil_twin said on May 07, 2008....
I seriously can't believe I got 12 comments about what I had for lunch today! Woo-hoo! That's funny to me :-P

pickers--You are a wild woman! Next time I'm feeling really daring, I'm going eat peanut butter and jelly Pickers style!

Mimi--Your lunch sounded good! I like pickles.

Mr. Box--I only like potato salad that's homemade. Like Mom's! The store bought kind is always crunchy. Blech.

MommaSue--I'm so glad you found this interesting! Your lunch sounds like my usual lunch...I like goldfish crackers!

skald--Yeah, I cook the burrito in the microwave. Usually it works out okay, but I think the microwave at work is starting to go out and not cook properly anymore. I hope you have a good evening/afternoon too!

kruu--Good to see you around again! Even if you are drunk. I'll have to look for your ten blogs....
  • dailyachesandpains said on May 07, 2008....
LOL!  YOU NEED TO STOP THE MICROWAVE FOOD!
I seriously had a vision of your last incident all over again!

Did you know Ed reached the maximum comments at one time here?  I think that may have been just shy of your arrival, but it was actually funny as hell!  That's when we learned there was a maximum to commenting too!

i used to regularly create polls about what people had for lunch, kyle. :>

me, i had a ham sammich, an orange and a great big still-warm chocolate chip monster cookie of doom from the cafeteria at the office--which, incidentally, kicked ass. :D

i've had frozen burritos too--and i always find that i can't find any darned hot sauce when i did!

daily: IIRC, someone else has maxed out their posts/day. i've done it twice that i recall--i think.

I had a piece of my friend's sandwich, and a Bacardi Mojito.

Then after my final, we went to a really great Thai place by campus and I had ribs with white rice...yumm...that was my dinner.

ET, it's not that writing or reading about your lunch is anything to brag about, but honestly, you crack me up. It's not the act of your lunch that makes your posts so amusing, it's the thought that you attempted to fill a void when it wasn't necessary and still managed to make it your unique view and sense of humor.

How's married life? Any surprises, any unexpected perspectives or observations you weren't counting on?

Any unusual characters skating around our neck of the woods? How is Venice/MDR/Mar Vista these days?

  • evil_twin said on May 08, 2008....
daily--I do need to give up on microwave food huh? It's dangerous for me! I've never reached the maximum post or comment amount. I'm a little surprised about the comment amount thing though because there were a few times I had day long conversations inside of posts and I must have commented at least a 100 times. But it never locked me out. I'd be sad if that happened!

silver--Normally I try to post something that's more meaningful than what I had for lunch, but I was trying to do my part to fill this place up with something at least slightly entertaining. And I told Zayda in a comment that I'd post about what I had for breakfast and she said to go for it!

tbs--I wish I had a Mojito for lunch too! I don't know what it is, but I know it's got alcohol in it :-P

PT--I'm glad that even my most mundane posts manage to amuse you :-) Married life is good and so far there haven't been any major surprises. Except now she's not as nice to me about leaving rotten peaches all over the pantry! We always have unusual characters lurking around our neck of the woods. But no one has stood out lately. Just the regular hippies and crazy people. Oh and us, of course! :-P

Yesterday, I had tuna with a dash of hot sauce and crackers.

Today, it's unseasonably cool here, so I'm having chicken gumbo soup, which was a might bit spicier than I thought it would be.

I hate it when I burn the top of my mouth....   ;-)
    (You even made this interesting!)
