Before I resumed my blogging, papajack and crybabylu had suggested that I should just change my username and retire rustydiamond. Would that have been less offensive to some here, had I done that? To me, it just seemed dishonest.

This is just a place for our amusement. You call yourself whatever you like. I don't really take it all very seriously. I just blather on about whatever occurs to me, try to toss in a few jokes, make a few friends. I was blabbering on about Soul Signs and martial artists, and remembering things in my past. I think I'll go blabber on about the movie I just saw. I'm amazed when someone finds my stuff interesting, but that's nice to know. One time, I wrote a post about baseball, and the only comment I got was that it was boring as hell, so I answered that I thought it was a good cure for insomnia. Read me at your own risk if you want to stay awake. I don't care if I put everyone to sleep. That's their problem. -

I don't know your situation, but I have asked that same question of myself a time or two. I actually did change my username for a while, but oddly, it didn't feel the same. Change your name, if you so desire; but don't feel forced. -

I'll be honest with you, I like the name alot and I would keep it, I have no idea where you came up with that name but I wish I would have thought of it years ago when I had my old chevy truck. She was a great truck, would'nt back down from any situation, alot of character you know what I mean ? -

No one of consequence should care. It's a blog for Pete's sake.
The thing that bothers people about name changers is deception.
If you announce a name change as you leave one name and as you come in with teh next, it's others' fault if they miss the explanation, isn't it?
Not that you owe anything to anybody. Change without a word, if you want.

Moonriver K'ung fu-tzu say, me suggest experiment. You keep rustydiamond, write blogs under name. But also, you set up another username (an "alt"), tell everyone about it, also write blogs under it. No dishonesty there. Just multiple personalities, like we all tend to be.
In my case, me no use for alt. All my multiple personalities are here for all to see, and read, and ridicule... :-)

Moonriver......I don't want to use an "alt". I just want to feel free to blog what I like and do it unoffensively. When I was blogging here before, I was blocked from another one's blog, and still am. however, before that, i had blocked that same individual for accusing me of being a liar! I didn't know all that much about this individual, but when we had an unpleasant encounter, I blocked that person. When this individual posted my picture along with my name on their blog, I thought, "How mean!" If that is what it is like to blog, I don't want to blog.
since that time, i have discussed it more with my family, and it is their understanding that in every blogging community, there are those who respond in that way, and not to worry about it. Now, after reading all these comments, I have decided to stay with rustydiamond...Thanks, moonriver.

Lucytorial..... thanks, i am moving on from that now, don't regret a thing now, and am feeling luck that individual doesn't want to have anything to do with me, and me likewise.
