I've mentioned once before that I'm a member of an online forum for people who own or are interested in rabbits.  It's a pretty active place (I almost said "hopping") and I enjoy reading about other people's rabbits, seeing their pictures, and occasionally helping out someone in real need.  Plus I have learned a TON!  And by now, having been there for around 18 months, I'm starting to feel really settled with the other long-term members.  It's my second internet home after SoulCast!

But I have also earned myself a reputation as the forum's resident essay writer.  I am a sufferable know-it-all.  I retain everything I read and sometimes I am a little too happy to jump in and share what I know.  And then of course I have to include lots of extra information because you never know what the OP does or doesn't know or who might come along and read the thread months from now.  I try to hold back, I really do!  But in school I was the "human dictionary" and DH calls me his "personal encyclopedia" so I don't think it's something I can really avoid.  I am a little embarassed by it though.

But then earlier this week, I got a little affirmation.  It made me happy and when I'm happy I want to share it!  Here's what happened:

OP: How do I go about making a NIC cage?  [NIC = Neat Idea Cubes, movable shelving units that make great rabbit cages]

1P: Since I'm lazy and don't want to repeat everything that Nytquill will probably neatly list out for you, hang on, I'll go find a link...

Me: lol! Am I that bad? *thoroughly answers question*  You know what, nevermind.  I just answered myself.  I am!

1P: Of course you are!  As in, that you are THE best.  In fact you're the one I personally would go to to explain it in laymen's terms, plus you give tons of info in one message.

Me: Bah, I tend to go overboard and overkill and overwhelming, all those overs.  I need to work on being more succinct.  But then it's been 6 months I've been saying that and nothing's happened yet!

2P: Nytquill - I usually read a post and then close it, thinking you'll give a thorough explanation and better than I could.  You lay everything out there for us.  You do the research and compile every pro and con on the subject at hand.  I love it.  And thank you.

Aw, shucks! *blush*

So I guess if you have rabbit questions, I'm your girl!

I did that with a certain type of fish for a while, until I realized that nobody wanted to know nearly as much as I wanted to share. It got to the point where I felt most people weren't willing to learn enough to care for them properly, and I had to back away from discussion sites on the subject.

That's cool that you're so highly regarded in the rabbit forum world! ;-)

I would SO want this sign to put on it!...
specifically, if you've seen "The Life of Brian," then hopefully you will get as big a kick out of this photo as I did!...
Is this bad? Do I actually have a problem or does everybody do it?...
