Here is something I browsed from a blog: http://mudbloodsonthehighways.blogspot.com/

This guy is so desperate to be in politics. There is nothing wrong if it is his greatest ambition. But por Diyos, I hope he should be more strategic in making his moves.

Well, he should be aware that his father may be the Speaker of the House but he does not exactly have a clean reputation especially in Davao City.

Karlo should have noted his experience when he ran as Representative for KALAHI, a party list group which was heavily doubted as a group formed by his father Congressman Prospero Nograles. He knew how the Mayor of Davao City, who is a lot credible than his father as far as Davao residents are concerned, lambasted them during the last election. He and his father was the subject of the Mayor's fury because Nograles allegedly poured in the resources intended for the campaign of the President's men to KALAHI.

Now that he is still his dad's Chief of Staff, after he failed to join his dad in congress, he should be more careful.

But what is he doing again?

On the Speaker's report published in the local papers no image of Prospero Nograles was found in the pictures. But Karlo was there. He was in every picture doing the job of his dad.

What the hell does he think he is? A congressman? Pfff....he must be dreaming!

Karlo Nograles is not the elected public official and his effort as staff only represents the effort of the Congressman. Therefore why in the world would he allow his name be printed in the projects of his dad as congressman?

"Through the initiative of Atty. Karlo Nograles" says one sign of one project. Does he have the mandate or the power to initiate projects? Well, any staff may have certain powers to lobby, but can only do that when AUTHORIZED by the chief himself, the Congressman.

Karlo does not have his own personality in the political realm because he is not an elected official. He cannot use the power of the congressman, speak as if he is the congressman and complete with the Mayor's daughter, Atty. Sara Duterte.

A recent news item made an impression that Karlo Nograles is doing the things his father was not able to do, but at the expense of Prospero's office. He is said to be pitted against Atty. Sara Duterte who is also doing the things which her father would not be able to do.

The difference between him and Sara is that the latter is the City's Vice Mayor. Thus, she has the mandate to initiate projects. Sara is elected by the people while Karlo is just a private person.

Knowing that Karlo is planning to enter politics, his exposure to this kind of strategy is apparently sending the message that he is already campaigning for his bid to either the Vice Mayorship or Congress as early as today.

Karlo, Karlo, Karlo......you are so careless. You might end up like your dad. For God's sake, give yourself some respect. Save some of dignity. You can be a different person. You can be better than your father. I hope you do something worthwhile.

There is nothing wrong with what he is doing he is the chief of staff remember.I commend Atty. Karlo Nograles for doing many great things in the first district. House Speaker Prospero Nograles and Karlo his very suitable heir apparent know what is best for their constituents like livelihood, education and Philhealth cards. I guess those people who hate what they are just jealous since their projects really sink on the heart of the Davaoenos unlike the current local officials who failed to stop killings and offer jobs to Davaoenos.

I commend Atty. Karlo Nograles as the chief of staff of Speaker Nograles. He is a man of honor and true to his words. In absence of his father, as the chief of staff as appointed by their office he has the rightful duty to serve Davaoneos. If he is campaigning for next year election.Well,he deserve to be the next Congressman. My colleagues and I we all vouched for his sincerity and commitment to serve the public. We worked in a multinational company and belongs to a 500 Fortune companies in the US. We vouched for his integrity and respect. Most businessmen will vote for him. Atty Karlo you deserve our support and more power. from anonymous

"Thru the initiative of Cong. Boy Nograles and Atty. Karlo Nograles." Wtf!! What did he do, lobby for the roads? And thanks for his father who would like to sell our country to foreigners (as if we still own this land, anyway). Nothing wrong to what he is doing? Everything is wrong. Why, you ask? Because he is getting the free publicity and printouts for his early campaign through the expense of the people's money that elected his father. Not him. And yes, he is already following the footsteps of his father- that of being a trapo!

Check the link below. One can easly make an educated opinion and later decision by reading the article. It starts: DAVAO CITY—He is his father’s son; she, her father’s daughter. Their families are mortal political enemies, and in the 2010 elections, they will be at the forefront of their war. "Like his father, Speaker Prospero Nograles, lawyer Karlo “Kaka” Nograles defends the billboards and posters with his smiling face and name—in rich, bold letters—that are placed conspicuously in areas where major infrastructure projects have been completed or are going on in Davao City. "While critics say these announcements speak of the Nograleses’ narcissism, or are part of a grand stunt to claim credit for government funded-projects, Karlo says these do not violate laws. "He describes these as nothing but “information billboards”—simply to remind people of the service that has been delivered to them and what is to be expected from the Nograleses’ “politics of performance.” "Karlo speaks of how his father’s performance has changed people’s lives in the first district, the biggest in the city’s three congressional districts." http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/inquirerheadlines/regions/view/20090620-211584/Defending-the-name-of-their-fathers
