O.k she ended up being a 2005 Honda Civic EX and she is silver. Beautiful, scratched, and I already replaced the front wheel due to the nice potholes my city has to offer right outside the entrance of the hospital. I've decided to share my over rated experience from financing nightmares to the actual driving experience.  I had a hell of a time securing financing. B/c my credit history was not long enough in terms of established credit NO ONE would take the risk of financing me and the ones that did wanted huge amounts of money down.

I'd already given my money down on the Buick and found out I could not secure financing. Then after trying three other dealerships and my credit score taking a hit. I found Enterprise car rentals also sells their cars after a year or two on the cheap and whatever they don't sell to you they sell to used car dealerships.(Betcha' didn't know that tidbit!) So my white night came in form of my credit union who I found out will lend to just about anybody as long as you are a member. And they took the risk on ME;~)  By the time I found out they'd approve me for the Buick I'd already picked up the Honda and signed all the papers.(Shit!)

Anyway the dealership still has my down payment after a week and I didn't purchase anything from them. They are giving me the bullshit runaround and i'm out of a grand as it seems. Upset is an understatement b/c my bills are due.and I could use the money towards my rent. I'm going to get hubby to use his and then I'll reimburse him. I spoke to my bank who was suppose to refund my money and then dispute this with the car dealership. If I find that the money is not in my account by tommorrow I'm going to freak and then they will see me angry as hell on monday morning b/c it didn't take that long for the funds to come out it shouldn't take a year in a day to get back.

I've already scratched the car, had someone dent my front license plate, had a hell of a time finding parking as my job charges 40$ a WEEK to take up space in their lot and I haven't even applied for a parking permit yet. AGGHHH!:~(  Oh and not to forget me already having to replace my left front wheel b/c I hit the nasty craters infront of my job.
As I navigate these mean streets and I find rude, nasty, rule, breaking,no signialing drivers, and the parking is a bitch syndrome......I find that having a car here in the big city and driving as a WHOLE IS OVERRATED! So how have you all been. I'm missing you all on this end but now begins the adventure of paying off the car at 8.99% for 72months.
If anyone out there has advice on how to do this in a faster fashion the ears are open and ready to recieve. The Floor people.................................................................................

pay it weekly, if you can it saves interest.  As I work for a coach and transport company I was aware that I can purchase a good car from rental company's replacing theirs.  They have to do this every two years I think, and the service records and maintenance are brilliant.  I'm hoping to do this in the next year with a 4 x 4.

I am not surprised that the $1000 is so hard to get back but as you did not purchase anything in the end it should come back and if it doesn't soon then you have every right to start breaking down doors (so to speak). Some years ago my wife was being given the run around about getting her final pay from a company she had quite. After over a week we went in with documents printed from the labour relations web site. If she wasn't paid in 48 hours it an arbitrator would be assigned to settle the issue. She got the cheque the next day.

Yes, driving in the city sucks. That's where you find all the assholes - on the roads. Good luck!

Well I don't know where you live Lu but the way gas prices are NOW! I'm kind of glad I avoided the 4x4 as I saw many of men at the dealerships trading down b/c the gas guzzlers had become so much on their budgets. I'd say go for a 4cylinder as it is not as bad as a v6 and a v8(which is the worst in terms of gas) and don't forget your carfax report. At $323 a month in car payments what would I pay every week?

Thanks Hotaka for the advice. My mom told me to use the lawyer approach if I don't see the refund in a couple of days. How long of a wait is a resonable wait? I have bills to pay and don't want to hold them off untill I get this money if it's going to be a month from now! My bank is saying up to a month but I think this is bullshit b/c it didn't take a month for them to pull it out so as  a consumer I should have the right to have my money back just as fast.

I should have listened when my family said not to put anymoney down. The dealers scare you into thinking that your going to lose out if you don't do this. These same scare tactics are how I ended up with the top of the line Honda that I'm paying $100 and change extra for on more than one front. I should have listened to my pastor and not folded. But my husband thinks the Honda is better and that I could control this car better than the Buick Rend. You should see him he's treating it like it's his car and he's paying for it and not the other way around.

Don't you have something like the BetterBusinessBureau you could contact and ask how best to handle this situation? Hmm... If not the BBB then a government agency? There must be something to protect the consumer. Yes, they do scare you those salespeople. I just got a loan for a house. It was in great condition and in a good location. The agent said it would sell soon for sure so we should snap it up. Later we found it has been vacant since last June and has since been renovated as a selling incentive. I guess there was not that much a rush. But you never know, eh? You don't want to mss the right deal for you. It's easier when you just don't have any money to pay. Then you can walk away and talk it over and think it over. Some of the excitement fades then.

HH, if that deposit was non-refundable--and there should be something in writing about this--then you're SOL, i'm afraid.
