Cecil Chalmers and the Kingdom’s Curse
New Fantasy Novel Pulls Readers of All Ages into World of Mystery, Suspense, Imagination
Small town, USA– Following in the likes of fantasy greats J.R.R. Tolkien and J.K. Rowling, author Shannon (last name omitted) is introducing readers to an entirely new world of mystery, suspense and imagination with her new book, Irwin Kingdom Chronicles: Cecil Chalmers and the Kingdom’s Curse (published by AuthorHouse).
Although young Cecil Chalmers is a bright and well-behaved boy, the “goody two shoes” of his family, he finds himself inexplicably drawn to the one place his parents have forbidden him to go: the magical, haunted kingdom of Irwin, tucked away deep in the mountains surrounding Cecil’s home. But little do Cecil and his parents know that his older brother Ethan is actually the master of Irwin. When Ethan calls on Cecil for help with the deeply troubled and cursed kingdom, Cecil is pulled into an adventure like none he could ever imagine. He will later learn that he is the paladin – the greatest defender of the castle Irwin Estates – and only he can restore peace to the kingdom.
But the road to peace is not going to be an easy one for Cecil to travel, because incredible evil has a stronghold on the kingdom. The ill-fated empire is falling apart, thanks to Fiori Hain, a young boy whose tragic death has led his ghost to roam the kingdom, seeking revenge. When Fiori captures Cecil’s best friend Augusta, Cecil must do everything in his power to find her. Meanwhile, he seeks a special rope, the “Holy of Holies,” that Fiori wants desperately; a rope that holds the key to Cecil’s mortality and the mortality of everyone he holds dear.
Accompanied by a unique cast of characters, Cecil pushes on through forbidden lands and incredible danger as he works to rescue Augusta and relieve the kingdom of its incredible curse. The action is non-stop, culminating with a show down between Cecil and Fiori Hain in the Dark Orchard and the mysterious appearance of Cecil’s father in the kingdom. But will Cecil be able to escape Fiori’s evil ways? Will he find Augusta? And will he be able to find the rope that Fiori so deeply desires? Discover the answers in the conclusion of Shannon’s (last name omitted) Irwin Kingdom Chronicles: Cecil Chalmers and the Kingdom’s Curse.
Written as a tribute to Shannon’s father, who she says always gave her the inspiration and encouragement to write a book someday, Irwin Kingdom Chronicles: Cecil Chalmers and the Kingdom’s Curse is Shannon’s first book. However, she is no stranger to the world of writing. The Maryland native and current small town resident has possessed a lifelong love of the craft. She has worked as a freelance writer for 10 years, producing everything from greeting cards to web publications.
