so did anybody else notice the new feature now available on igoogle? i think that's actually pretty cool--although i'll continue to use the non-i page, myself: i really like the minimalist google home page, to be honest.

if you're interested, samples of all the available artists can be found here.

slashdot
i am shocked--shocked--to find that slashdot is down. apparently, they are now welcoming their new, botnet overlords*?

Yes, I've just seen it, I tried a couple out, but I think I just prefer the original page too :-)

Heh. I usually just use classic Google so I was unaware of it.

Slashdot seems to be up now. You know, I subscribed to their newsletter but I still hardly ever go there.

There are other places on the net where I used to hang out all of the time, like Ars Technica and OSNews.com that I never go to anymore.

I prefer the original Google page, but I must say that I am fond of the Marc Ecko theme.

I'll probably stick to the plain Google page, but I do like the idea of an artsy page (I'm all about customization, after all :-D).

I use the regular google page a lot.  Will have to go investigate this newest feature.

I'm sticking with the no frills google home page

iGoogle is my home page and I still did not know about that new feature! Thanks Ed.. I will go investigate now.

p.s: Don't ya just love simpsons? Its jokes can fit just anywhere!! :-D

I love the new iGoogle. I'm minimalist on my BlackBerry, but only because I have to be!

I was not aware of the trouble at Slashdot, however.

battycat: yeah, i think so too. :>

TS: i was shocked to see slashdot was down at all--in all the time i've been visiting that site, this is maybe the second time ever that's happened. you visited ars technica too, huh? gotta say that's one i've never made it too, i'm just not hardcore enough, i guess. :>

super z: yeah, that's a nifty one, isn't it? i kinda like the one by kengo kuma and am using it on one of my accounts. :>

infernal: i'm not generally big on customizing to that extent, myself--i'm more about customizing functionality than appearance, myself. :>

u-i: let me know what you think of it. :>

daily: yeah, mostly i am too--except for one of my accounts.

skald: i think so too! :>

diabolic: really? that's odd, i'm surprised! and yeah, the jokes are awfully versatile, i find. :D

jade: hey there, long time no see, missy! glad to see you're still using your crackberry. how've you been?

Silver: I'm good, thanks! And I am on CrackBerry #2, now. I can even use this thing as a wireless modem, although to be honest, I usually stick with the Berry. My PC is a little old and very slow.

I haven't been able to check--was Slashdot totally nuked or merely under construction? I worked a double, and I behaved myself by leaving my precious bit of technology at home (BB), all of yesterday. In fact, having gotten Firstborn off the class, I may very well sleep for another hour or two before the Second Holy Terror wakes.

  • silverwhisper said on May 01, 2008....
nah, slashdot was completely offline, it was freaky! sorry to hear about your double, ugh! hope you got some more sleep. is all well w/ mr. london?

I thought one of my BlackBerry forums had taken a dive, but it was construction. But my internet service this week has been crappy at best. I think it's an at&t issue (I hear they are making EDGE faster, we'll see), as I haven't heard of anymore RIM outages, lately. At different forums, SoulCast included, pages merely refresh when I reply, although the comments go through. Anyway....

The doubles aren't too bad, just tiring. I don't have to be in till six tonight, so it all balances.

Mr. London has his good days and his bad. It seems lately he is acting a little less agitated. We recently moved to a quieter apartment. Sometimes, I wonder if that has helped. I pointed it out to him, and he could offer no explanation.

  • silverwhisper said on May 01, 2008....
whoa--you moved recently? no wonder we haven't heard from you lately! sorry to hear about your coverage issues.

gah, tons more to say but work is piling up--more later!
