Day to Day Cleaning: For daily cleaning use warm soapy water or non-abrasive cleaners such as glass cleaners or commercially available solid surface cleaners will remove most residues. After cleaner use rinse the top than dry with a towel to prevent possible spotting, especially in areas with hard water.

Dirt & Stains – Routine Care: When cleaning most dirt & stains first use soapy water or an ammonia-based cleaner. For water marks wipe the spot with a damp cloth and than use a towel to dry the area. Difficult Stains: For stains that are difficult to remove use an abrasive cleanser (such as Soft Scrub) and a Multi Purpose Scothch-Brite* pad. Always rub in a circular motion.

Disinfecting – Routine Care To make sure your Solid Surface top is disinfected, occasionally wipe the surface of the top with mixture of bleach and water (1 part water/1part bleach).

Heat Damage Prevention: DO NOT place anything that is hot on your countertop. Hot pans, hot plates as well as some heat-generating appliances, like frying pans or crock pots, can damage the surface of your top. To prevent any damage always use hot pads or trivets with rubber feet to protect your solid surface.

Other Possible Damage: Solid Surface is the easiest surface product to repair and renew. However, following these guidelines will help you prevent any damage. Avoid allowing any strong chemicals (paint removers, oven cleaners, etc.) to come in contact with your Solid Surface countertop. In the case of any contact, flush the area with water as quickly as possible. Avoid using nail polish near your solid surface countertop. If nail polish does come in contact with your top, remove it with a nail polish remover and flush with water. Avoid cutting directly on your Solid Surface countertop by using a cutting board. (See section on cuts & scratches) Do not stand or sit on the countertop Run cold water when pouring boiling water into your sink.

Cuts & Scratches: Matte/Satin – Sand the surface of your countertop around the area of the scratch or cut with 180 or 220 grit, fine, sandpaper until it is gone. Restore the finish with an abrasive cleanser and a green Scotch-Brite* pad. If the scratch or cut remains or other damage has occurred than look to higher a professional.

Warranty: Most Solid Surface products come with a Limited Warranty. Ask your dealer or fabricator what type of warranty your countertop comes with.
