GRANITE
Daily Care: Use coasters under the contents of all drinks, especially those that contain alcohol or citrus juice. There are a lot of every day food and drinks that contain acids that will etch or possible dull the surface of your Granite. Although Granite is marketed by many as being heat resistant, you should take precaution and use trivets or mats under all hot dishes, pots, etc. Also use placemats under china, ceramics, silver or other kitchen items that can scratch the surface of your Granite. Use a cutting board during all food preparation. Clean up any spills of any substance immediately (see section on spills).
Cleaning Your Countertop: Use a few drops of a neutral cleaner, stone soap or a mild liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water (DO NOT use products that contain lemon, vinegar, or other acids). Using to much cleaner may leave streaks in your top. Use a soft cloth for best results. Make sure to thoroughly rinse of your countertop after washing with the cleaner and then dry with a soft cloth.
Spills and Stains: Any spill should be blotted with a paper towel immediately. DO NOT wipe the spill, because it will only spread the area of potential damage. Once the spill has been soaked up, flush the area with warm water and mild soap and rinse a few times. Thoroughly use a soft cloth to dry the area. Repeat this process if necessary.
Removing Stains: Knowing the type of process for how a stain should be removed is better determined if the item that created the stain can be determined. Stains that occur on the surface of your top can often be removed by using an appropriate cleaning product. Stains that go deep into the surface of the top should be handled by a professional as it requires the use of strong chemicals.
Warranty: Most Granite does not come with a warranty
Granite should be resealed at least once a year
