D6fer's post about potty mouths got me to thinking about the many ways to creatively say, go away, or too bad, and so on.

Twylarants said she says, 'go piss up a rope'.  Mobil says, 'pound salt', as do I.

My list might include:

Eat a bug!
Take a long one! (shortened from 'take a long walk off a short pier')
Bend down and kiss it! (referring to my derriere)
Sit on it!
F--- you and the horse you rode in on!

I love word play and creative expression.  Feel free to add your favorites.

Ha ha ha! I get the strangest looks whenever I say "F___ you & the horse you rode in on!"
I can't remember too many of them:
    "Bite me!"

"I gotcher (whatever it is they're bitching about) right here!"

    That's it....I'm out. Screw it.

Well, it's been a few years but I used to tell my brother "you're adopted and mom paid us to play with you".
  • the_infernal_optimist said on Apr 22, 2008....
I like "Kiss my grits" if I'm trying to avoid cursing.

Also, "tough sh--" has become "tough stuff" around here since little one is old enough to repeat things. ;-) But in general, I'm not too creative. If I'm mad enough to think it, it comes right out in its original form.

I always like to say, "Allez le morceau vous-même!"
  • wishyouwerehere said on Apr 22, 2008....
Lady Emma's is so much more eloquent, although I have no idea what it means when translated to English!

I have no expression - I generally click my teeth together to let those closest to me know when I have had enough.  It's code for "bite me."
  • botoni said on Apr 22, 2008....
"Bug off".....which is the shortened form of bugger off, works around here.
For the select few...."Flap those little fairy wings outta here!"
  • Lady_Emma said on Apr 22, 2008....
That was French for, go gnaw yourself!
  • crybabylu said on Apr 22, 2008....

  • crybabylu said on Apr 22, 2008....

thanks emma!  I have a good friend named emma, btw,

Has anyone said, go stuff it!  What does that mean now anyhow.  In by day that meant stuff a sock in your mouth!

    I've always enjoyed:

You are cordially invited to go fuck yourself.
Eat shit and bark at the moon.
Go home, go to sleep, and dream about your life that is such a tradegy.
Let's pretend I care, nah, fuck off.
You are a special kind of stupid and need to leave me alone.

Haha. In my newspaper lab class, if we curse with the exception of those words that can be said during primetime tv and the exception of production Mondays, we have to pay the pig.

Anyhow, there are days where I get so frustrated at something I'm reading or the lunacy that goes on on our campus that some of those primetime words don't fit. I just have to say f--- this or sh--. But I don't have enough quarters in my purse to pay the pig. So what I do is find words or phrases that allow me to say the word or something close to it.

It's strange and funny, but the best thing I've found to replace sh-- is something one of my staff members said and it's "shitake mushrooms." And with the f-word, being a huge fan of Battlestar Galactica, I tend to say "frak" a lot when I can't say the other word. A close second is "shut the front door."

And now, I think I've said enough. Lol.

  • quietone said on Apr 23, 2008....
go sit on it, or sit and spin  - up your nose with a rubber hose - and what is this one... if you don't like it lump it?  If you had a brain you'd be dangerous.  Eat sh.. and die.
