Digestive competency
Digestive competency is fundamental to good health; digestive problems can create numerous health conditions. Once you know how a person is digesting foods, then precise supplementation with enzymes and nutrients can bring about beneficial changes in numerous symptoms from fatigue, muscle pain, anxiety, headaches and depression to indigestion, insomnia, hormonal imbalances and yeast infections. In correlating the levels of enzymes and nutrients with health problems, we look for underlying chemical imbalances, which are produced by stress.

UNITED MEDICAL NETWORK READ MORE ABOUT: Brief History
Between July 1991 and June 1996 I was in private practice as a doctor of chiropractic. My wife, Maile, and I founded the ‘Health Enhancement Center’. Maile has earned her M.S. and PhD in biochemistry, nutrition and fitness. In our practice we used a holistic approach where I would assess structural, physical, and biomechanical function, while Maile would assess individual body chemistry, diet, nutrition, habits and addictions, and lifestyle. After the first few years in practice, Maile and I began to notice that many of the symptoms that people were presenting to us with (headaches, fatigue, depression, flu-like symptoms, skin rashes, respiratory problems, allergies, and increased chemical sensitivities) could be attributed to specific nutritional deficiencies and environmental chemical exposure. In 1993, for the benefit of our patients I began researching environmental and occupational health and sought out the companies who provided the best solutions in the form of water filtration, air filtration, natural cleaning products, and chemical-free personal use products (toothpaste, shampoo, soaps, etc.). In 1994, I began giving informal lectures on “chemical exposure and health, nutrition and solutions” to our patients at our center. Giving these lectures I found out two things: first, that the general public knows there are problems with our environment, but most believe that our government is protecting us, and our environments. Most people are completely ignorant about nutritional deficiencies and their link to environmental chemical stress as a causative factor in many health conditions. Most people are not aware of the chronic, low-dose chemical exposure we get in our own homes from personal, daily-use and common household products. Second, I learned that I enjoy researching, speaking, writing, and educating people about these subjects. I now consider this to be my mission in life.
