That's a fantastic picture, Quiet. I have new age music playing, and I put your picture on full screen....it's really cool!

Oh wow.. what a cool picture! It looks awe inspiring.. The best part is the sunrays peeking through.. I agree with secretlife.. they're looking ready to burst out of the cloud!

That is a really neat picture Quiet, are you into photography? Every dark cloud either empties on you or moves along. I don't know if there is any significance in that or not.

i love when sun pokes through the clouds.  I call those things spears of sunshine.  Always makes me think of God.

I love this!  Did you tag it Florida?  So, you took this on your vacation?  I love sky-gazing in all kinds of weather, and this is just beautiful.  I like the way the center tree top sort of goes lightly up into the clouds.  You do wonderful photography!

That is a wonderful picture. Do you see the sun rays coming down from the sky. we have a special word for them, sunsicks or sunletters and that is the name of Gummis rock group Sólstafir.
  • quietone said on Apr 17, 2008....
secret ~ yes, I like to see the rays of sun like that, it gives me a sense of peace.

Twyla ~ hi there...I am glad that you have enjoyed my pic.
  • quietone said on Apr 17, 2008....
diabolic ~ the only thing that burst out of the clouds that day was rain unfortunately.
  • quietone said on Apr 17, 2008....
mobil ~ yes, I used to do a bit of photography but haven't for a while.  This dark cloud emptied on us while we were there.. a few dark clouds did in fact! But, that is what makes the flowers grow and the birds sing.

    WOW!!!! Quiet,

    What a great pic!!!!
It reminds me of my youth on the lake where I was born!
    We would go sailing.
It looks like the wind will be good for it.
And after some soaking action we'd let ourselves dry in
the sun while sailing our boats next to each other.

    ;-))
  • quietone said on Apr 20, 2008....
Quality ~ oh, I just love sailing.  The first time and only time was in the San Francisco bay.  Wind in our faces and the tip of the mast almost touching the waves what a rush it was... I forget is that called "keeling?"  thanks pete.
  • Never_Mind_The_Quality said on Apr 20, 2008....

WOOW That must have been awsome Quiet!

My dad was a boatbuilder. He also was an instructor and
had a sailingschool, together with my uncle who later
    moved  to Canada.

I have been sailing since my 4th.
The wind, the sound of the water, whether you go fast
    or are almost motionless.
The sun in your face. YESSS it's great!
I hope you can do it again!

And if you're ever in Holland, just give me a shout so
you can come sailing with Joanna, the kids and me and
show me where in the Bay you sailed.   ;-))

    Hugs

what an extraordinary picture, quietone! great composition--i love the pair of bare trees in the foreground as a commentary on the light breaking through the clouds!
