A total of 539,500 Toyota Corolla vehicles (for both 2003 and 2004 models) will be recalled by Toyota while General Motors will be pulling out a total of 122,593 Pontiac Vibes. According to reports, a bolt in the power windows found in the driver and passenger side of these three vehicles causes the mechanism to fail and at the same time, causes the window pane to loosen up. Only these cars are affected since the Corolla, Matrix and the Vibe were constructed in the same assembly plant located in California. Vehicles with manual windows weren’t affected since they were produced in different assembly plants outside of the California state.
Toyota will start sending announcements through postal mail to inform Corolla and Matrix owners of this flaw and the recall of their cars. If by chance you happen to own any of these three vehicles, be sure to check your mailbox from time-to-time for any correspondence that may come from Toyota.
