Olia told me that she and her two friends are chased by boys at recess. The boys want to hug the girls(so they say). I have a feeling that if Olia and her friends actually let the boys catch them and said they could hug them, I think the fourth grade boys would run for the hills!
Olia and I have been talking about the little girl we are going to host. SHe wants me to promise that I will adopt her, but I told her that will probably not happen. It is very difficult to adopt from Ukraine right now, the current director of adoptions would prefer that orphans lived in foster families in Ukraine. Also, another adoption would be quite expensive! Olia told me to "hide" my jewelry and good things. I asked her why and she told me that a lot of people from Ukraine steal. She said, it's not that they're bad, it's just that they want things and don't have money, so they just take things. She told me that her grandmother never stole(I was glad to hear that).
Olia had a softball game last night. She only struck out once she she was up at bat. She likes softball, but she doesn't love it. But I like that she is out in the fresh air with kids her own age.
Today I went to Kohl's and bought some spring and summer clothes for Olia. I wasn't sure what size shorts to buy her, so I just bought the medium stretchy type with skinny waists. There are so many cute girl clothes that it is difficult to resist overbuying for the season. I only bought her two pairs of shorts and a pair of sneakers. I will take her with me to try on shirts and tops. Fortunately, last season I bought her a lot of shirts at the end of season clearance sale!
