Who's reading CreativeWoman (614):
I can't think of much to write about, so I guess I'll just tell you about my day.

My creative juices were flowing this morning, so I wrote a poem.  I tried to make it more lighthearted that what I usually write.  For some reason, they tend to reflect some sadness these days.

I cooked a turkey breast, homemade coleslaw and some long grain and wild rice for lunch.  It was pretty good if I do say so myself.

My blood sugar has been excellent since the doctor's appointment.  I really have been trying to relax about it some.  We'll see if that continues to help.  I'm sure I'll freak just a bit if they change my medication.  I am so afraid of side affects.  I even have nightmares about it sometimes.

I've been doing laundry.  In the process of putting things away, I've been putting some things aside for Goodwill.  I sometimes hang on to things for too long.   I need to make room for some spring/summer things I've updated with.  I really love the new smock type tops and have added a few I found on sale at various times.

Today I bellydanced for an hour.  :-)  I am able to keep up with the instructional video for the most part.  I also did a little practice to some regular music.  I'm sure I look silly right now, but I know I won't before long.

I've made plans to go see my sister tomorrow.  She has the day off and I will make the drive to see her and her family.  I haven't had a good visit with my nephew in a while.  He's been texting me about getting a tan. He tans easily and I told him he will get bronze while I turn a nice shade of pink.  He countered by saying this will be my year for a golden tan.  It's his way of encouraging my walking plans.

The forecast is for more rain.  I hate cold rain.  This week is supposed to be a bugger but next week is forecast for the 70's.  I hope that's true.  I need some sun.

My evening plans are nothing special.  Ghost Hunters is on in the background.  I find the paranormal fascinating.  I may do some more writing or some reading.  Maybe I'll just float around SC for a while instead.

That's about all the excitement I can stand.  :-)  Thanks for reading.

I was saying,  I bet I would have liked your poem, but I bet that was personal.  Keep dancing and have a nice visit with your sis.  And that's great that you are doing well with your blood sugar!  You are on a roll, so keep rolling along!

Hi CW, it sure looks like a great day... I am interested in the belly dance.. I've been dying to try it even at home, but haven't found CDs I could use yet, I have my own steps though.

Anyway, goodluck on your "date" with your sister!! :D

    Lioness,
I got my instructional dvd for bellydancing at a Borders bookstore.  I haven't searched out any actual belly dancing music yet.  I do my moves to Pussycat Dolls and Shakira so far.  :-)

I'm sure my day will be great with sister except for the cold rain.  The company will be great.

SkinnyW, that is wonderful news about your blood sugar!  And I think its fab that you're doing the belly dancing. . .it must be great exercise and fun too!  Just to fill you in, I've lost 5.5lb since joining Slimming World and I hope that when I go to weigh this evening I will at least be down another 1.5lb, which means I've lost half a stone!  In any event I am getting down and hope to reach 70kg by the first weekend in May when we go camping.

Its really nice to hear that you are doing well!

    Love Polar

    Sounds great CW!

I was curious, and forgive me if this is dumb, but is there such a thing as diabetic remission?

    Lioness,
I'm glad you like the idea.  :-)

    Polar,
Good for you!  I hope you make your goal.  :-)

    skald,
Thank you.  I do love them very much. :-)

    Daily,
I don't think they actually call it remission, but you can improve well enough to control it with diet and exercise.  That's for type 2 and especially if you lose weight.  I think type 1 always requires insulin.

    queen,
I'll do a post on the video I'm using.  I don't know if I'll ever do one of myself though.  :-)

i realize now that you've mentioned bellydancing once or twice before. for how long have you been studying, CW? a good friend of mine is also into bellydancing, she's been taking classes at a local studio.

    Ed,
I've not been doing it long.  I stumbled upon it watching Fit TV.  The movements looked like something I could do and I thought it would be fun.  So far, I'm really enjoying it.  I'm learning at home through a beginners instructional dvd.
