It's funny how we are surrounded or should I say guided by numbers.. Dreams, birthdays, special dates, I think sources for numerical equivalents or interpretations for certain things are endless, particularly to those who love betting. Unfortunately, I am a poor loser, so I don't bet. lol

Blogging about numbers crossed my mind while I was filling up those annual info sheets about a lot of things, like  income taxes, personal data, statements of assets and liabilities, etcetera, etcetera. Yeah, a bunch of sheets that needs to be submitted before the month ends.

How many numbers do we need to memorize just so we could conveniently fill up those infos without going through old files or our ever reliable wallet? Hmmm.... Here's a few of what I am talking about:

  • Employee/ID Number -  thank God, it's only 3 digits for me!
  • Tax Identification Number - I've been using these for more than 10 years and it hasn't been embedded in my brain until now.
  • Insurance ID Number - nope, still not yet memorized
  • Health Care ID Number - I have an ID?
  • ATM Pin Numbers - necessity made me get familiar with it. :D
I find it easier to memorize 9-digit mobile phone numbers than more important ones. How ridiculous can I get? Am I alone on this?

LOL  The one I use the most that I have memorized is my credit card number and expiration date -- makes it a lot easier to shop online without running for my purse.  :D

i have a credit card number memorized too.
all the one's you mentioned except my work id # is 8-
i used to be able to remember phone numbers so easily, but not that my kids have cell phones and i have to remember those numbers, i had to let go of some of the other things- like my zip code-
a brain can only retain so many numbers!

lioness- The only numbers I have engraved in my memory are social security, drivers license, and ATM pin. That's because over a period of time I need them often.

There are just a few telephone numbers I use often and I don't know them. The reason is they are set in my phone and I push one button for them. Most people seem to have a problem with their own number because they never call it. Like me.

Hi queen, I am weak at memorizations too! Miss yah too sistah!!!

secret, i think discarding is safer than getting numbers mixed up and getting into deep trouble! :D

beyond, come to think of it, it's much easier to hand a calling card than memorize your own numbers..
