So, apparently the trama of the weekend (I'm so over dramatizing this) has had the side benefit of start kicking my creative juices. As mentioned I am working on an Over The Hill kit to send to my sister on her birthday. I'm sure she's gonna kill me for it, but seeings as how we get along she'll eventually let me off the hook.
So, in my squirrely mind I started to percolate making two other kits. Honestly, it's not my fault. I went to the craft store to get some glue on letters for my daughter and came across
these two tiny lunchbox type tins. On sale. For which I had no specific reason to buy. So ......................... I took them. They're smaller than my other two kits, so I'm going to have to think small. (argh! the challenge)
The first will be a "Toxic Family First Aid Kit" in the black one with skulls. I've already got aspirin, alka seltzer and bandaids in it. I will grab a set of ear plugs from home (yes we stock them there since apparently everyone snores) and buy one of those tiny hotel refigerator sized bottles of liquor. I'd like to include valium, but there's that pesky detail of actually having some and not being convicted of selling it illegally. I'm toying with the idea of putting in a small invitation sized card that formally invites the receiver to f*&% themselves. The main attraction will be one of those pocket sized folding plastic raincoats that I will label "Cloak of Invisibility".
The other will be a "College Survival Kit" with the camo. I will put in an energy drink, a roll of quarters (for laundry), a bag of doritos, duct tape, super glue, a packet of handiwipes and a pre-written, postage stamped postcard requesting that mom and dad send replacements as life is getting desperate.
I'm a huge fan of keeping busy, but really do hate to see these kits sit here at work without homes. I have decided to auction them off here and split the proceeds with the Humane Society. ( How fitting, don't you think?) The only conditions I have are that purchaser pays for postage and that I be able to use pictures of the finished kits for marketing future kits.
