  Yes I think you're right.. I think people find it easier to just keep things shallow and watch sometimes and not look deeper.. Also sometimes we overlook those who are trying to look deeper.. Works both ways I think..

  If we were together, you could go on and on about any old thing, as long as you drew pictures on my back with your fingertip while you talked. I'd pretend to listen, too, but I'd just be focusing on your fingertip drawing me pictures. Nothing is surer to make me happy and calm than that.

  There are so many kinds of attention I don't want to get. Here are some of them:
  False flattery from people that are trying to manipulate me.

  Any attention from the police. Even when they innocently drive behind me I get paranoid.

  Attention from former lovers and their current lovers.

  Credit for something I didn't do. Like if I won an award for saving a life, but it wasn't me that did it.

  Media attention that contains false information.

  Attention for anything I wrote that I feel is subpar.

  Attention from criminals,  gang members, and bums.

  Sometimes, attention from greedy children. If you give them one toy they want 10.

  So, I'm all for real attention from those that love and respect me, but most attention I can do without.

  ed, no, i suppose i don't do that.....negative attention doesn't really do anything for me....neither does positive attention achieved by begging or other false ways.
