Whooo Hoooo!!! I finally got a flat panel monitor for my computer at work. You would not believe the amount of persistant nagging and whining it took to drag my company into the 20th century. I nearly had to go blind before one of the IT guys found a flat panel for my computer. I was starting to feel like the redheaded stepchild of the administrative assistants with that old boxy ugly monitor.
It was like karma was smiling on me yesterday. I got the new monitor which was gift from heaven enough, but then I also got a response from a request I put in to get a picture of my great great grandmother's headstone in Michigan. The responder was this absolute angel of a person who noticed other headstone's that related to the one I had requested pictures of. I had known about my great great grandfather, but was finally able to confirm the existance of a great aunt. We're talking about months of patiently beating my head against walls trying to figure out if the census takers of the time were of "altered mind" or it I did indeed have a great aunt. I did, she turns out to be a "character" and I used this info as bragging right to my sis.
I hope this karma thing hasn't petered out. I'm scheduled to do a dinner and movie with Bill, his sister and his dad tonight for her birthday. With any luck we'll see a decent movie and go to that little restaurant with the good chianti.
