If the world was mine, I'd attach windshield wipers on the passenger side rather than the drivers side.  That way when it's raining really hard the SPLASH would go toward the passenger side, not the side of the windshield I'm trying to see through to watch the road.  Seeing the road is important.

If the world was mine, everyone would be honest.  With themselves first, and then with others.

If the world was mine, selfishness would not be an issue.

If the world was mine, everything would be what I consider perfect.  But it would not be like humans imagine heaven to be.  It would be more like here on Earth - just "fixed".

If the world was mine, I could not be a part of it.  I know nothing about windishield wiper design.  I can not see the road ahead, only the part I'm on right now, try as I might.  I am not totally honest, try as I might.  I'm not totally unselfish, try as I might.  I am not perfect, try as I might.

hiya Grace! I have missed you, ya know? I hear you...and see that you are striving to drive the straight and narrow...*sigh, the course is long but the journey is designed to be! Don't forget to see the lovliness of what you are seeing along the way.....
"sometimes the voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes"....
blessed be, praying with all of my might....Mamie

Completely agree.  I would want to "fix" everything...but before I could do that, I'd have to "fix" what is wrong with myself.  Maybe if everyone fixed themselves, nobody would have to try to "fix" anybody else.  Wouldn't THAT be interesting???

We can not see the road ahead only a part of it but hopefully we get there still the same. Maybe we just stumble on it but still get there.

Well.....you don't sound like you are in denial, and that does say a lot!

I really liked your train of thought.  It was insightful. Some day we will have a perfect world.  I am looking forward to that day. This old world and all of us are going to go through some growing pains till then, but it will be joyous, much like a woman when she is in labor.  Painful yes, but oh what a prize she gets, once she delivers.  Love dee

If the world was mine, every car would be Rolls Royce.
If the world was mine, every car would run without filling.

    Thanks for your comments everyone.

You know, often times I feel as if others don't "get it" when I write things.  I expect that it's going to mean more to me than to others - that I am going to continue to see and feel the things that went into the sentences and paragraphs, but others are not.  I don't feel that way this time.  You all seem to have picked up on some of the nuances in my simple words.  I deeply appreciate that.  Thank you.

{{{MeMy}}} - Let's go play barefoot in the rain, shall we?  No use wasting a good storm.  We're going to be ok, my friend.

{{{Mamie}}} - I miss you too!!  Busy busy busy - work has been a bugger for a few weeks now.  And, as you also know, it's always the straight and narrow for me.  I get in trouble when I try to take shortcuts.  LOL  As to the eyes - I'm about to get yet ANOTHER new Rx.  Maybe I'll "see" new things - who knows? =)  I'll email you.

Fallen - We agree on a lot of things, don't we?  It's very nice. Sometimes others point and cry - "Hey!  That's broken!  Fix it!" - and I look, and can't see where it's broken.  Sometimes they are right, and I just can't see it because it's me that's broken.  Sometimes it's them that's broken, and there's nothing I can or should even try to fix.  I am in my 47th year of learning just what can and what should be fixed and what can't and should not be fixed - both within myself and outside myself.  Amazingly, I'm still an apprentice.

cntluv - Well I'm trying my best not to be, at least.  =)

Dee - As I sat here trying to think of a response to your comment, all I could think about was those commercials . . . I think they are from Walgreens. . . about living in "Perfect".  The one that always caught my attention was where the narrator says . . . "In Perfect, it really IS the thought that counts."  So, in light of that, thank you for your thoughts.  They were lovely.

{{{Blank}}} - As long as your Rolls Royce is luxurious and powerful, built for comfort and safety of passengers, with raw power at hand, who runs at a frightening speed, and at the same time  ensures safety and comfort - - - RIGHT?  LOL  ;~)

Skald - I have a love-hate of seeing the road ahead.  Sometimes I can see the road, and it scares me.  It's got so many twists and turns, and it's uphill all the way!  Sometimes it's straight and beautiful when I see it, but when I actually get on it it's just poorly constructed and crumbles from underneath - foundational issues that no amount of "repairs" will make it safe and useable.  But regardless, you are SO right - we always arrive at the destination.  I've had some deplorable "road trips" and I've had some that were awesome. =)
  • skald said on Apr 02, 2008....
Grace.  It is a good thing that we don't see all the road. I would not have wished that. When I came there I had to deal with the things and when it was straight and beautiful I could just enjoy things.. We have learned from our deplorable road trips, I think, there are twists and turns like you say but it all adds to the diversity of our lives. I hope the road will be smooth and beautiful for you from now on. And lol I hope the same for me.  Thanks so much for your answer

    Grace,

My experience has been similar. I have noticed that the happiest people around are usually children - they accept other people as they are and they to make the best of things. Sometimes "making the best" involves helping the other person change something (that the other person *wants help changing*) sometimes they adapt themselves to the new people and surroundings, but they usually don't judge others for not being the same as they are. Children are usually pretty happy, and I think the more we accept others as they are & work to improve ourselves, the happier we will be.

I don't think its amazing to *still* be an apprentice - I think its incredible to be a learner again. Too many people become "experts" who know everything - they never look at things anew so everything to them is old and boring, always criticizing about what they wish it was so they forget to enjoy what it is ... experts are never truly happy. Enjoy being a learner - its the best place to experience life.

Fallen - Again, we agree.  And I am a perpetual learner.  Enjoying it is a whole different discussion.  LOL

Queen -  You wanna play in the rain barefoot with me and MeMyI?  You bring the tea set, I'll bring the cookies, and MeMyI can bring the clothes to dress up in.  :~P

Ed - Thanks!  I wish I had more time to blog.  (Maybe my head would be clearer!)  Now that second part. . . . that got me thinking.  Course, that's why you put that, I'm sure. =)  Very interesting, that.
