I've said before that what we do here is a form of a dance.  The way we chase each other, hungrily reading each others words, the playful back and forth, it's very much like a dance.  We glide across the pages of SoulCast, which is a huge dance floor, or a ball room, standing close to each other.  You know...  Two steps forward, one step back....  Excitement of revealing things about ourselves and the fear and trepidation of being discovered at the masked ball...  blah blah blah...  It's a tired, old song and dance.  You've heard it all before.  It's a tired metaphor, but it just fits so well...

Just wanted to say before I went to bed that I enjoy dancing with you.  There's a natural grace about you.  The way you so effortlessly glide across the pages, your delightful sense of humor has almost ruined my laptop more than once(due to me almost spitting out my drink all over the keyboard).  You make me incensed and suffer a case of the typing tourette's sometimes, you make me hurt with you and want to shield you from the hurt.  A whole myriad of emotions I go through reading your words, in a state of schizophrenic pandemonium...

Even when I'm not in the mix, commenting and dancing along, I want you to know that I enjoy watching you dance from afar.

You dance divinely.

Grape.

Dance.. what a fitting metaphor.. Dancing is the second love of my life.. the first is reading.. and this post just made me realize that this place combines the two.. No wonder I like it so much!
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Mar 28, 2008....
Ahh...  So many dance partners...  Where do I begin?

Fallyn:  [tips hat, bows deeply]  May I?  D  You dance pretty well yourself, you know...  Glad you liked the posts.  It's my responsibility to my readers that compels me to put stuff up here.  I'm always thinking, 'what would so and so like...'

CeeDub:  One of the finest dancers at the ball.  ;)  I always see you cuttin' the rug out there.

paper:  We can dance all night if you'd like...  This movie had taken an interesting significance for me recently.  :)  That's all I can say for the moment.  :D

me4u:  I know we don't dance together often, but you're one of those that I keep an eye on from afar.  I read you.  Sorry if I don't approach you and ask you for a dance(leave a comment on your post) more often.

qp:  Whaddaya waitin' fer?  Go watch!!!

pickers:  You know, though my heart may be reserved for a single person, I enjoy dancing with many.  I've always loved to dance with you.  You're one of those people that makes me spit my coffee out.  :D  Thanks for that video.  I love "West Side Story", too.

ddame:  Glad you like the metaphor.  I've used it more than once.  I thought it was a tired "song and dance"(har har very punny).  Glad you're here to dance with us.  :D

Sometimes when we dance, we get clumsy and take a spill, step on each others toes. skin our knees...  Then the others come by to scoop us up, sweep us off our feet...  This is why I love this place.
  • killingme4u said on Mar 28, 2008....
that's alright grape.i read lots of posts w/o leaving comments.i get on my nerves w/ it.....hey wherever you are have a good day.ttyl.  :))
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Mar 28, 2008....
me4u:  There are a few reasons why I won't comment on some posts.  Either I don't know what to say(which happens, but not often), or that someone has already said I would have(which happens more often than I like).

I'm feeding my kitty poundcake right now!!!  She loves it!!!  :D
  • killingme4u said on Mar 28, 2008....
kitty has very cute name :) my problem with leaving comments is the other from you.....i wanna leave a comment but to nervous i'm like speechless.....
  • fearing said on Mar 28, 2008....
Hi Grapey, Enjoyed the song.  Sorry for stepping on your toe.  I'm not the most graceful dancer.  Why do I have the urge call everyone "Enry Iggins" now?
    (Smile!!!)

    {twirls away}
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Mar 28, 2008....
Which one?  Zappa?  She's a cutie alright.  She's my boss.  I understand your trepidation in regards to commenting.  For me, it's the finality of the written word that I'm not altogether comfortable with.
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Mar 28, 2008....
fearing:  I don't think you've ever stepped on anyone's toes here.  Besides, in this virtual masked ball, you dance beautifully.  I've always enjoyed watching you dance, and enjoyed dancing with you.  :)

IRL, I have two left feet.  Here?  Well...  That's a different story.  :D
  • fearing said on Mar 28, 2008....

See how uncoordinated I am?  I can't even be virtually graceful!!!  Uhhh......somehow that last sentence sounds like it has a different meaning......maybe I am gracefully virtuous?........Sorry, I'm hungry and feeling silly.  Off to eat..........

    ;-)

  • Fallyn said on Mar 28, 2008....
is your kitty's name "poundcake" or are you feeding the kitty some poundcake?
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Mar 28, 2008....
Fallyn:  LOL  Her name is Zappa(named after Frank Zappa, whom I was really into when I bought her many, many years ago).  I was feeding her poundcake.  :D  But you're right.  "Poundcake" would be a good name for a kiity.  :)
  • Alyss said on Mar 28, 2008....
GK, Another of my favourite films & one of my most favourite actresses. And actually the song I enjoy most from the film. =)

I've never been to a masquerade, but such dances are the things that make life worth living, even if our dance partner is unaware of the dance itself...

  • Fallyn said on Mar 28, 2008....
    grape...especially my kitty....he's HUGE.
that would make a cute name.
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Mar 28, 2008....
fearing:  Gracefully virtuous...  Fits you very well.

Alyss:  Aye, it's good stuff.  Like I said, something that I've found new significance on lately...

You're at this masquerade ball...  And I must say, you dance with the best of them.  ;)

Fallyn:  IMO, fat cats are happy cats.  :)
  • Fallyn said on Mar 28, 2008....
    oh...he's VERY happy.
    especially when he's eating.
  • gingersoul said on Mar 28, 2008....

Grap.......ok, let's dance but we have to start with THIS......:-)....i am very curious to se how you can make it with your two left feet and this rhythm....

ginger:  Two steps forward, one step back.  ;)  That's all I know so far...

[brings paper a glass of water and a fan]  :D
  • Lucytorial said on Mar 28, 2008....
All I will say is that I enjoy the tempo of your step, each gliding moment where I catch up to you then spin out and return to find you moving in an exciting direction.

The moments I enjoy most are those lovely quiet moments when no one else is around, up close talking, swinging from side to side very open and honest, smiling and having fun, gentle and bright, I'd dance with you any day across these pages.
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Mar 28, 2008....
My my Lucy...  You are quite the wordsmith...  Please allow me a moment just to watch you twirl while I catch my breath, for your words just took them away...

  • Lucytorial said on Mar 28, 2008....
I could have danced all night...

The metaphor is magic Grape, as an ex pro dancer life is very much like a dance, sometimes its Jazz, other times its a classical shimmer, then you have your theatrical stage dancing, the tap dance is one of my favourites, but the best kind of dance is that quiet slow dance, giggles echo across the room, a smile lights up a face, the band soundlessly plays a tune for just two people.... hmmm a very lovely metaphor indeed.

    You dance so well Grape.
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Mar 28, 2008....
and still have begged for more...

I know of these moments you speak of.  To dance with someone, losing track of time, losing oneself in the steps, this back and forth is something I take much delight in.

You make a fantastic partner.  Let me catch my breath yet again...
  • PAPERBACKWRITER said on Mar 28, 2008....

[douses herself with the glass of water, sinking her teeth on the fan]

    ermmm. . .

    XD
