My first thought is that getting a second opinion is an excellent idea. It's even more critical if you don't share a good rapport with your current doctor. And if getting a second opinion doesn't sit well with the doc you have now, tough!
I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
I would definitely get a second opinion. sometimes the lab results are wrong! A good friend of mine just went thru this and she took what her gynocologist and oncologist told her for face value. She is doing ok, but I would always get a second opinion when it comes to things like this.
Love you!
I'm so sorry sunshine, just sending you a big {{{{{{{{{{{{{{hug}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Like Grape said, you've had loads of advice, so I won't add any more, just to say I'm thinking of you.
Mariah,
I am so sorry you received this news... I can only imagine the discouragement you felt at the time. I also believe you should get a second opinion. Particularly if you are not comfortable with your doctors decisions in your treatment. That's not to say that he doesn't "know" oncology, but just to suggest that it's easier, for us as humans, to trust someone we "believe"in. You say you received news that wasn't good, or expected. I take that to believe they did not get all the cancer with your lumpectomy. (?)
NEVER give up hope!!!! You will make it through this. As Mamie said, the chemo and radiation will kick the remaining cancers ASS!
I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately.... I'm still here, and always willing to listen and cry with you, get pissed off with you, "come up with a plan" with you. Whatever you need. PM me anytime.
XO! and a giant ((((((((((HUG)))))))))))
Mariah - there is always HOPE. Please try to keep yours up. Yes, get a second opinion, particularly if you are not happy with the oncologist with whom you are working. Get a third and fourth opinion and if necessary get a sixth and a tenth. The only way you are going to beat this is if you feel that the people trying to help you medically are on your side.
I wish you lots of love and lots of faith -
This sucks! I hate that word, CANCER. I got several different opinions when I got diagnosed, even though I trusted the first doctor. It was a good choice for me. I could see what they had in common for approaches.
This is a hard fight, you need someone that you trust to look out for you. So, research your local doctors, cancer centers, and different approaches. The more knowledge you have, the better you will feel about the decisions you make, to fight this.
Hello iv not spoken to you before but you do sound very frustrated and you have every right to , iv always gone with my instinict , and thats never failed me ever,that is what i would do if i was you, if you feel like you need another opinion then you go for it,, best wishes lioness x
Here I am as well, to add to everyone's well wishes and wonderful words of kindness. You will NOT let this pull you down. Take all of the prayers, positive energies and healings sent to you and fill yourself with them. Get that second opinion, go with your gut about your current oncologist, and keep your head up.
Healing energies being sent your way.
