In addition to driving safely, there are other ways to lower your premiums.
- Raise your deductibles. A deductible is the pre-determined amount you pay for any reported losses. If you raise your deductible, premiums decrease. Although this saves you money in premiums, if a loss is reported, you will have to cover more of the damage or replacement costs yourself. Raising a deductible is a personal choice and one that should be discussed with your Aon Reed Stenhouse representative.
- Drop unnecessary coverage. If you have an older vehicle, you may choose to drop collision coverage. Without collision coverage, you will not receive compensation for any collision-related losses. This is also a choice that should be discussed with your Aon Reed Stenhouse representative.
- Complete a driver's education course. Some companies lower premiums if new drivers complete a driver's education course or is a "B" or better student.
- Multi-car credits are available. If you have more than one vehicle or more than one policy with the same insurance company, you may be eligible for discounts.
- Inform provider of safety devices. Some insurance providers offer credits for such safety devices as car alarms, air bags, passive restraint systems, and mature-driver classes.
- Inquire about group programs. Discounts are also available under group programs through Aon Reed Stenhouse's Group Advantage Program.
