This Tribute is to Lucytorial!
Have you noticed how much she looks like Audrey Hepborn?  I don't think she has a picture of hersel posted at this time, but I remember when she let us get a peak at her and I believe, her husband to, I remember thinking how much she looked like Audrey Hepborn!

I really think she should have been a "movie star", because she definitely has "star" quality.  She truly likes people.  She don't go around announcing it to the world like I do, but you can tell by the way she treats people.

Now, that isn't to say she can't be a little "sassy".  But, I truly like that "sassy" personality of hers, don't you?

Unlike some, she is a respector of persons.  She comments on as many people's blogs as she can, with no respect as to if they are popular or not.  She is also a caring person, but again, she doesn't wear it on her sleeve.  You just are able to tell it by the way she comments on your blog.

If the subject matter needs care and concern, that is what you get.  If it needs a little humor, again that is what you get.   I love how creative and versatile she is.  She comes up with the best ideas for bringing people together.

Remember when some of us weren't even getting along all that well?  She had a "sit in" until we all started speaking to each other a little kinder.  We all had a blast on that blog, didn't we?

I remember on a blog of mine in particular.  I was withdrawing somewhat because It seemed no matter what I said or did, I kept stepping on some toes.  So, I did a blog where I said that my door was always opened.   And she was right there, and even brought pickersplock with her, and then Twylarants showed up, and we just sat there together having the best time.

She was the "life" of the party, she and Twyla, poor ol Pickersplock was really tired that night and fell asleep on us, but Lucy kept the conversation going, and kept the rest of us Laughing!

I love all of her blogs, but the one I think I like the best, is the one when she told about her "Gram".   When she was a young child, she was curious as to what was in  her "grams" box and finally her gram showed it to her, and it was a violin.  Gram taught her how to play the violin, and when her gram passed on, the memories of her and her gram brought tears to her eyes and especially the memory of "the violin".

She can truly be sensitive in a good way.  If you are in need of empathy and understanding, Lucy is the one, who can make you feel all better.  We don't run into each other as much now.   I don't spend as much time here as I used to, and so I can go days, it seems, before bumping into her here at "SoulCast", but it is always a treat when I do.

    Something from her earlier years:

She grew up in a musical family, and her grandfather was a church organist.  She talks about how it was one of those organs that had a "zillion" rows of keys, pedals, and buttons.  REmember those?  I sure do!

Her grandfather, grandmother, and grandmother's mother all played the piano and the violin.  She talks about how "chic" it was back then for a man to be able to entertain.  Her father taught her to play the piano the year she started to school at 5 1/2 yrs. old.  And credits her entire family for passing on that joy of music to her.

    Love and devotion to family:

Of all the stories she tells in her blogs, I think the ones that touch me the most is her love and devotion to family.

  • crybabylu said on Mar 25, 2008....

She is now into her 14th yr of partnership with her husband.  She began her journey with him when she was 21 yr. old, and they went through the first five or six years dealing with his cancer.  I hope she doesn't mind me praising her for hanging in there with him through that.  Some people might even say, "well what else can you do?"  But, I have met so many different' poeple in my lifetime, and would have to say that many of them would not have.

The following is from her blog:

I here by name this day to be:

    Lovers Day....

    This is from Moonriver's blog:

Lucytorial -- Tobi Lee lives among the rainforests of Oz's northern territory, and is currently searching... for what, she will tell you when she finds out. A long-time SC denizen, knows her way around, and holds deep insights into the human condition. Don't let the sparsity and whimsical tone of her blogs deceive you. Likes to streak naked through certain blogs, that happen to include mine.

There are so many other delightful things I could say about her, but then we would all be here reading all day, and I want to give you a chance now to share with us, the wonderful things you know about Lucy....

She's always seemed supportive and yet has an edge - I like an edge. And she seems to have great taste in the male apparatus. If she looks like Audrey as well, I may be falling in love (married women are my specialty). I, too, am a dancer (former instructor and musical theatre triple threat - the only non-gay in most companies!!!) so maybe we'll trip the light fantastic at the next SoulCast Prom. As long as she promises not to step on my naked toes.

I consider Lucy to be one of my great SC friends. She is blunt and honest, gotta love a girl who can tell you like it is. We seem to have alot in common with interests and ailments. She is my Soulcast sister
  • gingersoul said on Mar 25, 2008....

The first time i met Lucy we talked about the movie Orlando and our sisters.......we "clicked" immediately.....

She is open, funny and direct ...a true Aussie....:-) .

I ve a strong suspicion that Lucy doesnt know this but a comment she made on one of my blogs pullled me very quickly out of a deep blue funk. When you're reading this Lucy I want you to know I m one of your many fans.

I first met Lucy at an Aussie barbecue. She was cooking fresh crocodile that
she had wrestled away from the late Steve Irwin at some local game preserve.
She was all muddy, yet still sexier than most women half as muddy. The
crocBQ was outstanding and so was Lucy. After polishing off a keg of beer all
by herself, she later wrestled me to the ground, ripped off all my clothes,
and, and ... OK, that is all bull. We have never met except here at SoulCast.
She is just all right as far as I can tell. This is a birthday party, right? When
    do we get to spank the birthday girl?  8-}

  • polarheart said on Mar 26, 2008....

Lucy I sum up as one of those free spirits. Someone who doesn't like too many rules and who does whatever she feels like.  A spontaneous little "Tinkerbell". . .naughty but nice :-)  Its good to know you, JuicyLucy!

  • secretlife said on Mar 26, 2008....
lucy?  she has a great sense of humor and a love for life that shines thru loud and clear.  and she has a soft side that she tries to hide, but it's there if you look close enough.

today as soon as i saw Lucy in this title, i pictured her with the eye patch.  i know she must have had some fun with that!

what a gift to be able to laugh at the absurdity of our own lives!
  • moonriver said on Mar 26, 2008....
Babylu, I think the paragraph you quoted from my blog says a lot of what I like about Lucy. Plus, what Polar said. Sometimes I do see Tobi Lee as really Tinkerbell looking for her Peter Pan in the hallways of Soulcast. At other times, I see her as a skilled but unassuming film-maker and musician who wants to do something aboard a gondola. *wink*

  • diabolicdame said on Mar 26, 2008....
Lucy was the person who I spoke to on my blog here... She was real nice n friendly n funny and made me feel completely at ease! And now that you mention, she does look kinda like Audrey hepburn.. even with the eye patch that I saw her in. Well, all in all I really like Lucy.   :-)

Thank you for your kind words, Lucy, but there have been several blogs floating around here since I began with lots of nice things people have said to me directly.  most of which were in my get well wishes.  Some were right along with the wishes to get well, they would say little tidbits about me or papa jack which I treasure to this day.
