I have a high pain tolerance. I always have. I'm the kind of person who steps on a piece of glass, sits down, pulls out the glass with tweezers, and evaluates the cut before heading to the ER if it needs stitches.

I don't panic at the sight of blood. I guess I learned that from the time I was young because my dad is the same way. Well he's the same way unless the blood is his own. Then he turns as white as a sheet. It's kind of amusing to see the tough retired military man that is my dad go a little panicky when he cuts himself. But that's the subject of another blog.

This one is about my pain tolerance.

Tonight I have a headache. It's nothing to complain about really. It's one of those that has centered itself right above my right eyebrow. It's not all that severe of a headache; it's not even close to being a migraine.

But it's making me crazy because the throb of the headache is pulsing above my eye, which is making my eyelid twitch occasionally.

And that damn twitch is driving me batty!

Ugh.  My DH gets a twitchy eyelid when he's tired and/or stressed, and it drives him nuts.  I don't get it anywhere near that regularly but enough to know how annoying it is!

I'm sorry you have a headache.  I hope it gets better soon so your eye stops twitching!  It's always the little stuff that gets us, huh?  I have a pretty good pain/gore tolerance but I am a total wimp about nausea!

That twitchy eyelid thingy started when I was 35!  I freaked out and called the on call nurse and she said, very snarkily, "As you get older, your brain starts misfiring!"

    Welcome to my world Zayda!

I don't freak out if something starts to twitch. Sometimes the muscles in my arms will just start to twitch and I think it's pretty funny. I just watch the show. click. click. click. I'd say that happens once or twice a year. It's kind of like a baby laughing at its own hiccups.

My left biceps twitches every now and then.  Reminds me of Morse code.  ;)

I hope your headache goes away, Zee.  Even mild headaches make me very cranky.

Grab the alternate thumb and forefinger to the side of your head that hurts, pinch the other hand between the thumb (*that flappy area) and the forefinger, hold down for 30 seconds, release, go harder and harder until you leave a mark on your hand.

Then if the headache persists continue to gently press the same area at the same time it thuds in your head over your eye.

Also if you have magnesium in your house in tablet form or powder, make up a strong solution and drink it slowly over an hour ~ Hydrates your muscles relaxing them.

Magnesium will help to ease muscular and nerve tension, the thumb reflex aids in the energy meridian of the neck back of skull (magnum) and the frontal cortex, easing bloodflow thereby easing a headache.

I hate those kinds of headaches. (the kind that give you facial twitches)  I think you have a leaf induced stress headache :)  Hope you feel better soon.

I'm imagining your twitch - which I am able to visualize because you've been sweet enough to share your beauty with me. It's making me smile in amusement, because I can imagine some poor schmuck at the grocery store mistaking your twitch for a fliratious come-on.  :< div>

You're probably okay by now, but feel better fast if not.

    Love, TNP

PS _ Lucy's right, try blunt force acupuncture - or is it acupressure?

TNP: LMAO. Luckily the twitch went away. And it's not exactly the same motion as wink, so hopefully it won't be mistaken for a flirtatious come-on. Besides, since we were supposedly married, I've been saving those come-ons for you. ;)

U-I: Hmmmm...a leaf-induced headache. Now that is a grand excuse. :) Luckily the headache was gone this morning.

Diabolic: Hmmm...so maybe I'll take it as a sign of good things to come since my right eye was twitching.

Pickers: Great, just what I need, a misfiring brain.

Nyt: Heh...the twitch is more annoying than anything. I'm kind of whimpy when it comes to nausea too. Ugh.
Lucy: Oh, I do believe you because I'm quite familiar with accupressure thanks to my father-in-law as well as some friends who practice natural therapies. I'm not sure why you are calling yourself, bitch-face though.

Mimi: A Morse code twitch, huh? Is it spelling out something saucy?!

lfbno7: Oh, I wasn't freaking out about the twitch. It's nothing to freak out about. It's merely annoying.

Silver: You know, your memory is bad enough as it is; you with a misfiring brain are going to be in loads of trouble. :P
