Many things happened last week, but the most important is... the figure skating worlds in Gothenburg!!!
It began on Monday, and we watched a little ice dancing, too, but we were waiting for the men's competition on Friday and Saturday. We met on Thursday and wanted to go to the "Studying and Information Centre" (TIK) to surf on the net. But an accident happened... Betty touched the wooden banister on the first floor and a small piece of wood lodged under her nail. We had to go to the doctor:( There they sent us to the traumatology where we had to wait a lot. While we were waiting, we imagined Stéphane as a doctor and what would happen if we met him in Switzerland in a hospital:) Then a doctor who we called Wilson (from House M. D.) examined her hand, pulled out the piece of wood and bandaged her finger. We were happy that there wasn't anything serious. Then we went home and watched the end of the ladies' competition, which was won by a Japanese girl, Mao Asada. The Hungarian skater finished only 11th:( Sarah Meier, the Swiss was the 6th.
Next day we wanted to go skating, but we decided not to go because of the injury. But we had a great time on Friday:) First we had to go to another doctor, where we had to pay for the service. The guy who was at the cash desk was very nice:) Then we went to the TIK and wrote a message to Stéphane on his website:) We also did a few other important things. Then we went to a milk bar to have lunch. We ate pancakes:) Then we went home to watch the short program of the men. Stéphane... well, he wasn't good. His jumps weren't perfect and he finished in the 5th place. In the evening, we watched the ice dancers and "Six Degrees", which is a funny and good show.
One of Betty's room-mates has a turtle, who we call Lele after a doctor in an Italian serie and we fed him. We hope he won't feel bad, because he is alone and we don't know when he can get food.
On Saturday, we watched the free program. Verner, who was before Stéphane made many mistakes and he finished 15th. Joubert was at the 6th place and his program was amazing, finally he won silver:) But Stéphane... his jumps weren't clear again and he couldn't get a medal, he finished 5th:( He was very disappointed, he didn't smile:'( We were sad, too... in the evening we watched CSI, it was terrifying. On Sunday, the gala was beautiful:) Stéphane skated really well, and he smiled:))(L) We hope he feels better now. Yeah, Buttle, the Canadian skater won the championships, the second is Brian and the third is Johnny Weir. The performances were good at the gala:) We liked the Swedish skaters:) We saw the synchronized skating team, and they will have a world championship in Budapest at the weekend.
Today we came back together:) We watched interviews with Stéph, played on Neopets and now we wrote what happened:) Betty has Easter holiday this week, so she is going home tomorrow:( But we will be together soon:)(L)
