I am in the process of an e-mail discussion  on political topic, with average guy and religious topic with Baptist minister.  I intended to list question and their reply; however even though both are retired like myself they don't appear to be as interested as myself possibly because unlike myself they are both in good health or possibly because they are having a difficult time finding proof to confirm their belief.  Both wanted to discuss verbally, but I would not because I said politics and religion are to emotionally charged to discuss face to face, but I have found if you have to put beliefs in writting and prove them it seems more difficult to prove a falsehood.  Sounds good right, but the average guy did not let it stop him; the minister has not yet replied.Oh the guideline on the religious questions was the Bible and the political questions the Constitution.
Since this  experiment isn't going as well as I had hoped I decided to list the question using the same guidelines and see if I get any bloggers to respond.  I will list results of my first two efforts after  I feel a conclusion has been reached.
POLITICAL: Are we at war with Iraq?
RELIGIOUS: Why do you worship on Sunday?

I think the debate is over and I am disappointed with the two subjects; both relatives political- average guy admitted we were not at war with Iraq, but blamed terrorist for making Iraq the battleground in the "War on Terror" even though he had no evidence to prove the statement.  I asked him if he was bigoted or a racist toward people in middle east?  He did not reply, but sent me an advertisement for a cell phone thus showing me he was not taking debate serious.
religion-Baptist minister-question "Why do you worship on Sunday?"? with no reply for couple of weeks.  I e-mailed him and declared myself the winner of the debate. I received a reply from his wife stating the e-mail address was hers and that they had no computer at home.  I replied once with no response.
CONCLUSION-They were both just atating their opinions for show to the surrounding people.  The minister could not even admit he had no computer so I doubt he would been able to admit the truth even from God's word he probably would just pick himself back-up after stumbling over the truth; brush himself off and go on.  The average guy was not concerned that his beliefs were causing the death of innocent people.  All in all I was very disappointed, and for the one's reading this comment you should not feel to smug because I issued the same challenge to you.  PEACE-DL
