                              Winter 2008 - my favorite boots

    Now, this is most definitely....Ginger!

    I got it from her blog....She says these are her favorite black boots, and I can see why...She looks very good in them, don't you think?

    gingersoul -- A cosmopolitan alien from Italy stranded in the wilderness of Texas. Beautiful woman from the inside out. Talks (and writes) with a funny accent, but blogs with the utmost candor and clarity about her life and loves, her homes and dreams, friends and family, literature and music, food and wine. Loves the sea, clouds and chocolate, looks good in high boots. Sometimes chases butterflies with me. Indisputably in my mind, Soulcast's absolute best all-around writer, an excellent poet and literary gourmet, and my all-time favorite.

    Of course I stole this portion from Moonriver's blog where he has that "piece" posted under the heading...."you all are a bunch of".....you know where he is re-writing our profiles for us...

    ======================

    One thing one can't help but notice about Gingersoul is what others here at SoulCast call her "Italian Accent" in written form.  There is a quaint way in which she expresses her thoughts, with a fiery passion and refreshing honesty.

    From reading her blogs, I find her to be incredibly passionate as well as compassionate.  She writes with a candor, whether it be about her painful divorce, death and illness of loved ones,   And along with that, she shares her personal challenges with money problems and what she calls her "personal apocalypses"  http://www.soulcast.com/post/show/87639/Personal-Apocalypses

    I think of her as a "feminist" because she is a great advocate of women's rights, which I personally appreciate because I think of myself somewhat like that.  But what I like about her most in this area, her approach is so sensible.  She always says the most sensible things.

    There are so many things I gain from reading Ginger's blog.  Despite her inevitable moments of lonliness, being a single working mother, raising her daughter alone, she is coping well with stresses at the office and her longing to pursue her dreams of a settled life back in Italy, her home country, with her family and friends.

    Ginger is tireless, when it comes to blogging.  Earlier, she announced that she wouldn't be able to spend as much time online with us, because of her job, and quite honestly, I felt a small sense of panic at that news, because I get so much out of her writings, but have been pleased that she manages her job and her motherhood, and blogging her very well.

    I gain the same from her blogs and interractions here at Soul Cast as I ever did, Thank God, because more than once, she has been encouraging and have inspired me immensely, as well as I know she has been to many other bloggers here.  She does this with her "cheefulness", whether it be with serious advice or with witty remarks.  I love her online hugs, don't you?  She always gives them so freely and they always fill our hearts with cheer.

    Of everything I have mentioned, I think Ginger is at her best when she tells a disarmingly simple story, and then weaves introspective thoughts about her memorable moments of transition, such as the following.

    These are just some of my many favorites:

    " Dreams and reveries" http://www.soulcast.com/post/show/104851/I-could-have-even-found-God-in-this-bath-tub
    http://www.soulcast.com/post/show/95577/The-fish-out-of-the-water

    "Making friends at SC"
    http://www.soulcast.com/post/show/55628/Goodnight-Soulcasters....

    It is not surprising to me that Gingersoul was a jounalist in Italy, before coming to the United States.  You can tell that by the eloquent style she shows in her writings.  She is also a very fine poet. Most of all, she is a "free spirit".  What a refreshing thing to find in someone these days.

    Gingersoul:   Thank you for all the joy you bring to us here at SoulCast!

    Note: to get a better idea of what she really looks like, her picture is on....

    Babylu, I think Ginger will climb the walls again when she's greeted by this blog. Especially with your nice interpretive sketch of her face. Lol. I think I've said pretty much what I want to say about Ginger in my past blogs, but this one is my favorite.

    I like Gingersoul because she understands my humor and gets a kick out of it. It makes me smile to make her laugh.

    Of the many reasons I've written why I like ginsoul I'll just add this one - she's spunky.

    (and sends my heart a-twitter when she posts)

    (and makes me flaky)

    (help! - I can't stop!)

    Dee.....i logged in only now and i found THIS!!......i am amazed that you took all this time to write about me.

    But I think that more about me this post says a lot about you...how caring and intuitive you are, ready to reach out and constantly busy in create a warm network between all of us... {hugs}

    For this reason, I am really honored of being the second one in your list (and soon after our unbeatable Moon)...:-D

    Let's start with the drawing.....you made it?? You are good.

    Did you try to fill the blank of the warholized pic on my post, dont' you?....lol.....Great try, i have to say, even though my eyes are not so big...

    You are such a sweetie....making me a portrait.......like we say in Italy "Sono felice come una Pasqua"....meaning "I am happy like Easter day"......lol..

    ****And Lenny...see? Now i too have a nose and a mouth****....LOL..

    I want to thank you especially for all the nice words you had for me......i am really touched....and one more time i realize how when we write we dont fully understand how our words might touch the other people........how our words can create a mini chain reaction of emotions...

    And thank you sp much to the dear Scaster who took the time to comment with such nice words about me....ok, ok, i will send you the checks tomorrow, ok?....lol....

    Have a very Happy Easter, Dee.

    I had one right now reading your post....{hug}

    Gingersoul:  By the way, I never told you but I love your username.  I have a younger sister name Ginger, or we call her that, short for Virginia, she is Duke's mom.

    Thank you for commenting in your usual eloquent style.  Sorry about the picture.  I could tell be the one you had posted in the post I mentioned that your eyes were smaller and softer, but I erased and erased, and the imprint was already there, so I left it, plus I doubt that your eyes are that far apart. Most are not, but I bet I came close to the shape of the face and the chin and the mouth, but I don't think your face is as long as I made it either.

    I am just an amateur kinda messing around, and thought, I like it, even if it doesn't look like her.......I guess everyone will have to go to your post and be their own creative selves, ha!

    Love you bunches!

    Hi Ginger!  ( pushing cry off the chair in front of pc, so I can comment before going to hospital to see sick friend ).

    I was looking at my wife as she wrote this piece and thought, she has you pretty well known by your posts.  It took her less than five minutes to do the picture.  We were having trouble with our printer, and she was afraid to take more time, because the printer kept going down.

    who knows if she could have had more time, it might have been a masterpiece??

    Hope you liked this piece, I read it before she posted it, and said, you done ginger good honey!......Happy Easter to ya, ....JR

    I loved this post even more after i read that  Dee was worried about the printer and the drawing.......awhhhhh Dee.....you did an excellent job..... don't worry....

    Jack, yes she know me pretty well and i am still amazed she remembers so many things about me...

    Hope your friend will feel better soon, guys.

      Jenna...oh no,  i got the easier one around...speaking nice things about you is like saying the sun is in the sky...lol...too easy....

      You have always been one of my favorite Scasters...a woman full of complexity and joy for life, able to raise from her dark moments with a smile and with a word of support and encouragement for everybody. Your friendship with Mamie had deeply touched me in many occasions....{hugs}

      And Mamie is another jewel here...funny, witty, compassionate and so sweet...full of courage and an immense heart....{hug}

      And ginger is one of the deep veins of passion here at SC. She is a master storyteller who weaves beauty even into her pain.

    LOL...ginger you beat me!

    ginger:  a true friend.  i can think of no greater compliment."

    and...

    I've said this about her:  "ginger:  Has an inexhaustible capacity to care.  Has a heart bigger than the State of Texas.  Global, cosmopolitan beauty with brains to match.  Like infernal says, a masterful storyteller who captures my breath often.  Has a keen insight and an inviting nature that compels people to disclose things about themselves.  Wields her feminine demure with a hammer. "

    That was all on just one post.  There's more on the post, also.  Need I say more?

    This was a nice idea.  Many nice people here deserve tributes here.  I'm curious to see who you'll do next.  :)

    Gingersoul~ Just when you think she has out done herself she proves you wrong... she takes a lickin and keeps on kickin  she is a most amazing woman and fun to party with! She welcomed me here and even though I was born in Texas (raised in ca) and live in Texas I understand that feeling like a fish outta water. Texas is like a whole country of its own. Thanks for being a friend (((Ginger))))) And Congratulations!

    Who wouldn't love ginger?  Spicy and sweet -- what's not to love?  I think ginger is a very deep thinker, sensitive, and compassionate.  But what I like most about her is her ability to see through all the layers of nonsense to get right to the heart of the matter.  More than a few times, she has shown great insight to me in her comments.

    Happy Easter, you little Italian minx!

  • crybabylu said on Mar 24, 2008....

    Thank you MissMimi and Lucy for taking the time to comment.  She truly is special, like a lot of other Soul Casters, we all have things about us that are attractive, and help make up the Soul Cast family.

    Lucy, you are next, I hope I can do you justice.  You are a spicy gal, yourself, you know!  I don't think I am going to wait till next Sunday.

    The halls of soulcast tend to get barren on the weekends and I think more readers will see it, if I do some of this during the week.

    So, I will probably post yours around Wednesday instead.  Telling you, so you will look for it.  Have a good one!
