Zionism IS NOT racism.

Israel has a right to exist.

They have a right to a Jewish majority.

Refugees were an unfortunate aspect of the military occupation and war for the Palestinians but they live in horrible camps and are subjected to discrimination and poverty in Arab countries.  They deserve a right of return into Gaza, the West Bank and Jordan.  If other countries wish to accept them as refugees that is fine.

The West can offer a financial settlement and turn their camps into livable places for them and/or allow them to integrate into the majority country.  Lebanon is largely at fault for their plight in camps, not Israel (in Lebanon).

All countries have a right to self-defense.  It is when Israel uses excessive force against civilians and government officials that it becomes an issue.

It is wrong for U.N. policy to be directed against them for the treatment of militants who should not be protected by the Geneva Convention.

The Geneva Convention was supposed to protect prisoners of war.

Militants are not civilians, prisoners of war, prisoners of conscience, innocents, noncombatants, government officials or soldiers.  Their rights should be subject to alternate agreements and a country's right to defend itself (including house demolitions, targeting of suspects, intelligence, defensive force, the use of torture) should be sanctioned and regulated by alternate agreements.

Israeli refugees and their descendants should be compensated and allowed to return to their properties and land.  Any goods stolen from them should be returned or compensated for.

Jerusalem must be shared between the two.

The settlements and land seizures create displacement, homelessness and poverty for Palestinians in their own territories.  The uses of the Greater Israel myth and false notions of security to justify these actions are wrong.

t is colonialist.  It is a form of segregation and ghetto-ization in Palestine.  Israel itself is not a racist, colonialist, apartheid state.  It is a democracy.
Its actions within Palestine is another matter as there is no justification for a forty-year occupation with land seizures and settlements.  The land should be cleared and returned to the Palestinians.  The majority of settlements should be removed or else, land should be traded and compensation or building of adequate housing should be offered.

There is no justification for militancy, bombings and racism from Palestinian extremists who support their government and call for the destruction of Israel.

There is no justification for assault and harassment against Palestinians by settlers.  There is no justification for the recent bombing of cities in Gaza, killing 110 civilians and two Israeli soldiers.  There is absolutely no justification for curfews, banning mobility, roadblocks and a full-scale occupation in the West Bank.

The only way the PLO can fight militancy is if they receive help internationally.

The only way a permanent peace can be created is through the PLO not militancy.

Economic sanctions and banning military aid for Israel is deconstructive and will not help the peace process.

It is also a bad idea to engage in collective punishment against Gazans through the trade restrictions and ban on aid.

It is not helpful to restrict Palestinian economic aid, independent business venture, international investment, etc.

The Palestinians will have to take responsibility for themselves in the future.  Israel cannot keep paying for their food and health care after independence.

    Please Take My Hand.......

First of all, I would like to say how much I like this post.  I think it is the right approach to the Isralie/Palestine problem, or at least an approach that needs re-visiting.

Second of all, I think I may have been the one who gave you an inappropriate comment and I was wondering if we could start again.

    "Such As:"

Hello!  My name is Dee.  I have been reading your blogs for sometime, and I find them very informative.  You must do a lot of research and I like the "artful" way you display your information.

I was looking at your profile, and I thought how refreshing that was, to find someone on the web who is devoted to "truth".  Your profile says; "Truth alone is eternal."  I really like that and I too am a fan of Gandhi, 169-1948.

I also have subscribed to your blog.  Thought for sure I had done that some time ago, when I first started reading it, but I saw I wasn't and corrected that.  I look forward to reading more from you.

    Thank you...

oops!   I even edited it, and still didn't catch that I had left off a number in the date of Gandhi's birth....sorry..

Hey, were you talking about the entire post or just the first few lines.  I remember saying like the first couple of things, but I thought the rest of this might be a suggestion on how we can work things out between the two groups of people involved.

My husband is calling me to bed now, but I will check out the video when I get back up.

I found this video "shocking" and "horrifying"..  My God, what devastation!

Where do you suspect the U.S. might have perfected the technology for these helicopter gunship attacks?

What country is one of the premier technology development countries for the use of weapons on civilians?

America Band= Fantastic! Thanks for sharing a song that always relaxes me and calms me. Don't know why, but it does.

I have always thought of you as somewhat younger than me by many years, yet most of your videos are from my era.  I guess you just appreciate good music, huh?

since you know about songs, i have only one line of a song that keeps playing in my head.  it might be a melissa ethridge song, not sure, but the very last few words of it go "just trying to find our way home".

I don't have the right software or I would look it up.

My husband says there is such that if you just know a few words of a song and you type it in, you will come up with several to choose from.  But, I thought just giving you those last few words might trigger your memory.

Can you think of what it could be?

oh, btw, Sean triggered a reaction in me today.  I did an entire blog on it. oh well, such is life.

the "protesters" being arrested are wearing (all three of them) exactly the same issue boots that the "police" arresting them are wearing; they've simply throwing some duct tape on them to make them look "anarchist chic."...
