this post would be different from all of my posts.

this post has a different meaning.

why?

because this subject has touched the deepest core of my soul.

i'm not sharing this just because it's good friday in here...

i'm a catholic. but sometimes i dont practice being one. i'm not a religious person.

sometimes i dont go to church. sometimes i question my own faith.

but does it matter?

does religion matters in your faith???

for me all that is important is that you believe...

there's no need to know the truth...

all that matters is that you understand the truth.

so today, as we remember the day that Jesus Christ died for our sins.

let us all take a moment. and look inside our heart.

i know i sound like a hypocrite.

and believe me i feel like one.

but just take a moment and understand this...

i want you to take a good look at this painting.

Last_Supper_with_Street_Children.%20lowres

did you notice any different from the picture?

yes, there are no longer 12 apostles in the last supper...

instead of the 12 apostles he painted 12 street children sharing a meal with Jesus Christ.

the title of this painting is "they have Jesus" and it was painted by Joey Velasco. a filipino painter.

he even made a documentary about this.

i hope you have a moment of your time to watch it... so that' you'll understand why he painted this...

you know this video made an impact in me.

why?

because most of the children lives in quezon city...

the city where i am living right now...

yes...

some of the children portrayed, lives in my country... in my city...

and it hurts me that right now i can't do anything to help...

i'm not strong yet. i dont have anything to do yet...

but...

big but...

someday i know i can help.

someday i can do something.

but for now maybe i could help in my own little way. like if a street children ask for money. instead i give food... yes not money but food...

i know some of this street children will use it for drugs. or worse... they give it to some big time criminals who force them to asked money.

i know it's a small thing but i know it could help.

as i type this i'm getting angry.

sad... then angry....

you know why?

because i feel like some of the people in my country has doing nothing about this.

i said some. not all of them but some of them.

the government right now is more concerned about the fucking zte scandal. (if you dont know it, it's about corruption done by the president)

corruption...

no wonder the philippines is a third world country.

mind you...

i love my country... i would die for my country. (and i know someone in here almost did... you know who you are).

but i'm sick and tired of this.

i'm sick and tired knowing that my own people suffer yet the fucking people here don't care...

did you know that the philippines was second to japan before the marcos era???

and now we are one of the poorest country...

i know i'm young and i need to know more...

i need to know the real world.

but mind you...

i maybe young but...

big but...

i care...

you know sometimes i feel like the street children are more richer than most people.

why???

because...

they have Jesus...

and i think that's what all of us needed most...

sorry i just found out that the title of the painitng is not entitled "they have jesus". actually it is entitled, "hapag ng pag asa" or in english translation i dont know if the proper meaning is dinner table of hope. since "hapag" has many meanings... if you want to check his paintings you can visit this website...

queenie -- I stared long and hard at the picture of the 12 street children, and tears welled up in my eyes.

Behind that cloak of yours that shows a paranoid queen, I see you as one intelligent lady with an expansive mind and a huge heart for poor people. I'm one with you, my friend.

There is someone in your country who is the real paranoid queen... and it isn't you. You are the queen of hearts. :-)

Oh sweet Queen...I watched the video and re-read your words--and then just stared at the blinking cursor on my screen wondering what in the world I could say here.  That is sad, terrible.......but the painter and his work and his words are so touching.

I am thinking what a beautiful and special lady you are and that maybe you will find your place that you are searching for.

I am a secular-humanist and a liberal.  I respect Christian Baptist tradition but rarely go to church.

QueenP, That is a beautiful painting and the words you wrote were beautiful as well.  I believe you will do something about it.  You care and you have a big heart hon.  I did not watch the video.  I simply can't take it tonight if it will upset me.  I know it is there but it tears my nerves up without even seeing it.  Thank you for showing us the picture and writing this.
