Changing Our Values:
We live in an industrialized world. I know that isn't a new proclamation, but I am stating it as a reminder. This "industrialized" world has pursued dominance for centuries. And in that effort, it has asserted to obtain control, in my opinion, over the "natural" processes of life, and I believe over each other.
I have tried not to be a "bleeding" heart over everything we have done to the environment, although coming from a Native American background, somewhat, I do value the land and its preservation.
Therefore, you can understand my concern over several issues that I believe is slowly destroying our earth and its atmosphere.
This has left me with some concerns, and I realize we have heard some of the same arguments over and over, but please indulge me one more time to devulge what I believe is some of the problems we face.
We need to strive more to keep our air and water clean, and of course we all have heard that some of that can be accomplished by protecting our rain forests and preserving biodiversity, and all other ecological concerns we have today in that field.
There is something I don't hear discussed enough and that is being responsible over our Nuclear endeavors. I am not going to discuss that in length here, there are several articles one can read over the internet that will give you information, but that is an area we need to take more responsibility in to protect future generations.
Before I close, I do want to add something that I believe encompasses everything I have already mentioned. It is time we seriously address social injustices that often lead to warfare.
I believe that "war" is tearing this planet apart! If we viewed ourselves as part of each other, and doing what we can for the betterment of all mankind, we could solve a lot of these problems.
I pray that you consider some of these things I have mentioned and that you give it a lot of thought, and sit down and think of ways that you can personally help to bring a transformation in these areas to truly help future generations.
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to your comments......
