and b/c it's the vernal equinox, there's an egg standing on the counter in my kitchen. :> it's something my wife likes to do every equinox. yes, we know, it's technically possible at other times of the year, but it's kind of a tradition.
the past few weeks, it's seemed like everyone's been a bit down around SC, but c'mon guys, it's spring, representative of new life and new beginnings. twyla posted a blog about a new job she's gonna be starting, moon's been intriguing many of us with his vernal equinox countdown, and apparently, kyle could be a pole dancer if he really, really wanted.

standing an egg on its end: supposedly, during the equinoxes, you can put an egg on its end (the larger end) and it will stand without support. it's not easy to do the first few times, but you'll get there, if you have a mind to do so. :>

Today is one of my favorite days of the year Ed. It ranks up there close to the 4th of July. I dislike the winter more than most.
I'm so happy you answered the egg question. I'm running low on caffeine and it was about too much for my curiosity. I still don't know why it is possible but I'll live on the edge in bliss.

I always like spring too. We have flowers on our tree outside and it looks really pretty. It just needs to get warmer and it'll feel more spring like!

It's a nice, sunny day out here, so I'm going to go start my bike up, I think. It's still a little bit too cold to ride, and there's still a hill of dirty, grey snow in front of the house, but when the sun is a bit higher, I may start her up.

We also have something which is called the first day of summer. It is always on Thursday usually around April 20th and we celebrate it in cold and snow or what ever. lol It is also the day of the children and both my boys were christened on that day, one on April 22 ,his fathers birthday the other probably on April 24th -

ed, it rates above summer. :-D Autumn is my favorite, followed by winter. Though if I lived somewhere with "real" seasons, who knows? I might like spring better than winter in that case, but the first and last would stay the same. ;-)

Well I couldn't let quietone beat me....ha.....so I went and stood an egg on end! I went back and read that it was "technically possible to do it" on other days, but still that was cool. I'm glad I went back and read that, because I was about to ask if someone was "pulling my leg" (or "egg" rather.....) Maybe it will bring me good luck? Wish I could have posted a pic, too though. But it only took about 5 tries! -
