It's Holyweek again or "Kwaresma" in Filipino. I think its Semana Santa in Spanish. In this time of the year, some people take time to reflect, have a quiet time and relax. But for some who doesn't have enough time to go on vacation, they take this opportunity to do so. What would you choose between the two?

I went to Palawan in the Philippines a couple of years ago and I can say that, memories are still fresh. Fresh not because something memorable or scary happend but, fresh because it was truly a vacation getaway to remember.

We stayed at Lagen El Nido Resort. Lagen is the better resort of the 2 El Nido resorts. The other one is Miniloc. Aside from the lush greens that surround you every step you take, almost all hotel rooms look like suites - spacious, comfy and has a porch facing the open sea. It has a built in cd player system in the room wherein you can play your own cd's. Aside from the comfy bed and cozy sofa, the porch makes it perfect to have breakfast. The washroom doesn't have a bath tub but, it is ok. The open sea is your bath tub. Besides, who would want to dip in a bath tub when you have the whole sea for it. A warning though, the bathroom doesn't have doors, making it awkward for friends, barkadas or family members, but not for sweethearts.

It is also a good place for first times. They have there introduction to scuba diving, where I took my first scuba lesson, I think. Also, kayaking, sailing, and other water sports. Food served is plentiful. More than enough I should say, because of the wide variety of fresh seafood with a mixture of local cuisine, it is absolutely hunger-quenching after a whole day of water sports and activities.

For those in need of constant communication with colleagues or loved ones, the last time I went there, Smart Network was the only working sim and Globe works a bit too, but Sun Network? Won't work even if the sun is shining up and high. I don't know if they had improved that already.

Going back there would make me say yes faster than I say yes. Clear? Its not that cheap though. We spent like 30,000 pesos++ per person on that 3-4 day trip.

What would you choose between the two?
