  I would like to know that too. At first I thought that the "featured" page was a selection of the most interesting posts, but I doubt that now because I saw some posts there that consisted of only one word. Now I think the featured posts are completely random.

  I've twigged it. It's really quite simple. They're running some kind of algorithm bassed on current user's popularity, number of comments, number of views today and how old the post is. So basically, as soon as you've posted, get a few friends to comment, and then comment back - before it get's too old. That should get it to about page 2 or 3 at least. It should build from there, as more people see it.

  Stop worrying about being popular and and write something that people want to read, because it comes from your gut. People make popularity points by posting questions that they hope everyone will chime in on, but that's survey-blogging, which is okay as long as it evolves into something but I'm personally looking for interesting writers with some insight, not beginners who just want to jump up and down saying 'fuck" and such just to get my attention for one minute.

Did u read any of my previousposts, and do u think that I have written just for gathering attention, I think Iam one of the cleanest bloggers in soulcast.There is not a single word of erotic or adult content in any of my posts... and If u read my posts, u can definitely get food for thoughts... and good food, I mean, not just questions that simply catch your fleeting fancy.... It would have bveen better it u had given more specific appraisal of my posts, then i would know what u meant by "and such just to get my attention for one minute." I think soulcast should spell out its rules... because, fuckthemuslims posted such bad content, and it got featured, I am wondering as to soulcast still allows that blog promoting racial hatred here...   I think FTMuslims just got to the top because the system was messed up over the weekend and lots of people made nasty comments on his/her post. Most of the more popular bloggers were shut out from about Friday midnight (in the USA) until early Monday morning. Some others were shut out after that on Saturday. If you have noticed, your post is on the first page of Featured Posts: Today. Your post can be on Featured Posts: Today for up to 24 hours after it is posted. Then it goes to Featured Posts: This Week for seven days, I would assume. I think the placement (page 1, 2, etc.) depends on the number of views, how many people subscribe to you, and how many comments have been made, as Mr/Ms truthblogs stated above.

  Soulcast doesn't tell us the exact way that featured posts are determined because they don't want people abusing the system. Not explaining exactly how the featured posts are determined is one way to ensure that the featured posts aren't flooded with spam and that more than just a few people get heard. And well, it does help if you actually have something worthwile to say and what you say is fairly well written. On the other hand, they do say that one man's trash is another man's treasure. So, Heartwalker just because you like that other people post erotica or use curse words doesn't mean that those posts aren't appealing to someone else.

  Zayda... no offense was meant, and I hope none taken, what I meant was,(let me clarify... )I come from a culture where more emphasis is laid on spirituality and physical intimacy is between marital ties only.Our culture may be viewed as conservative to others, who feel that they ar liberal, of course, its all a matter of perspective, appeal is ehat any person likes, it is upto the person as to choose what he/she wants... So, I felt that my content is clean and suitable for all age groups, this is an objective appraisal, nothing to do with one's feelings. I hope I make my point clear.

  I'll be honest, you basically sound like you are whining. You have complained about the content of people's posts in the comments of several other threads and even called other people's posts trash. That isn't going to get people to read you. Frankly, just because you come from a culture that lays emphasis on spirituality doesn't mean everyone does. So, people who don't share your beliefs will have a tendency to not read what you post if all you post is primarily spritually related, prayers, or writing that is not originally yours. The reason that people read HBC's blog is becuse he comes across as genuine and non-judgemental and he write's well. Silver is a true talent; he's also passionate about many things, and he comes across as genuine and non-judgemental as well. If you are going to call some of the featured posts trash in other threads, guess what that makes you come across as...judgemental. So just stop it. Just because you don't like the posts, just because they are erotic, or they contain words that you don't like doesn't mean the posts are trash, nor does it mean that the ideas presented in them are trash either. And for God's sake, type out the word you instead of using "u" all the time. Using "u" instead of typing the word makes you look either lazy or like a poser wannabe gangster.

I don't know how that happened, but it happened, so indirectly censoring does happen, as it happens in yahoo, and other sites.
