Moonriver

I arrived here at Soul Cast on Oct. 20, 2007, and I started reading blogs. There were different ones who especially got my attention, and one of them was Moon.

But, what really reached out and grabbed me was his extraordinary post called “This Kid In The Peripheries”.

Something about that post was like a window into his soul. It is still one of my favorites, but it is hard to choose a favorite when it comes to Moon, because he writes so well, and so articulate, that each and every post, he causes you to see it vividly in your mind.

I also find him very intuitive and insightful. If you notice, as he promenades the halls of soulcast, and comments on different blogs, he imparts exactly what that poster needs to complete it.

Whether it be humor, insight, inspiration, encouragement, he always hits it “right on the mark.”

I am always overjoyed, when I go back to my posts, and sees what he has deposited there.

Moonriver, your contribution to Soul Cast, is one of the reasons I keep coming back here for more. You help make it a truly wonderful place! Thank you!

P.S. I think there is one thing that really sets you away from the rest, and that is your extraordinary kindness that you show to everyone, not just a few, but to everyone!

At first glance, he resembles a wolf, wearing a field vest and muddy boots.

Underneath the pelt and vest, however, resides a sage, with a gift for finding exactly the right word.

He is far wiser than he gives himself credit for.  Perhaps far wiser than even he realizes.  Indeed a valuable member of this community, the light that is SoulCast would be visibly diminished by his absence.

D'you hear that, moonie?  Better not stray too far howling at the moon.

    to dee and jack:
yesterday i was screaming in silence,
and you both paused to listen.
yesterday i was drowning in pain,
    and you grasped my hand.
yesterday i was struggling for words,
and you gave me your voice.
last night i looked at the sky
the moon was quietly curled up
alone in its blanket of clouds
but two angels came to my side
and lulled my troubled soul to sleep.
dee and jack, you can't imagine how your words helped me through the day.

to everyone: thank you for the kind words.

  • crybabylu said on Mar 17, 2008....

Moon, I really don't know what to say.....I am totally speechless at your words.  We just see how you are around here and how good and kind you are and helpful to new comers, and think to ourselves, what a wonderful human being you are.

I'm gonna hop off here real quick and let papa jack on, maybe he can put it in better words, I'm feeling  a loss for words right now.

  • papajack said on Mar 17, 2008....

To Moonriver from Papa Jack and Crybaby:

    We thank you most sincerely

    For everything you've done.

Thru all your thoughts of kindness
    You've healed us, everyone!

    Our hard times have turned

To laughter, fun, joy and pride.

All this we managed with you by our side,
Nor could we alone have this course run
    Kindness doesn't come on demand.

You gave it freely and not out of duty

We, everyone, daily polished by that beauty
From your show of love and kindness, we proudly stand.
